Has the Mods community really failed in F4?

Cobra Commander

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
I've seen here and there some people talking about that the F4 mods are weak and the modders are dropping out, as well as some talented NV / Skyrim era refuse to make mods for F4 (I read that Someoneguy hated F4 and will not make mod for this game).

I took a look at the Nexus and it looks okay.

Does anyone know anything about that?

Considering how many hardcoded pieces of shit are in Flopout 4, no wonder modders gave up when Bethesda was more likely to plagiarise them.

There are some gameplay tweaks and global mods here and there, but there's not much to do with F4, yes.

Plus, F4SE is underdeveloped, and this also limits modding possibilites.

That assumes the game itself is acceptable though.

Mods can make a great game like Stalker, even more amazing.

All it can do to a shit game is tack on more crap.

Maybe, but I think in a way if people were able to mod skills back in and easily create more quests, it would be a good thing. People mod Skyrim despite many calling it bland.

F4SE is being developed again, so once it allows some more things I predict more complex and/or bigger mods will start appearing. Unless the next Elder Scrolls game comes out and most modders will rush to it or something.

Don't think another TES game is coming out in a while, judging from what Bethesda is saying.

Modding skills in would basically require making a whole game, nothing in vanilla supports Skills so they would be making a complete conversion and those take so long most never get off the initial release.

Most of the mods in F4 are simple retextures, stat changes, or changes with the use of F4edit and GECK to make users wear armor pierces on top of any clothing, With some being rare actual models and unique texture and, even rarer, unique animations. From what I can tell, it's extremely difficult to make said animations and time consuming.

You can't make new quests, as the player would not be voiced.

Sure, there'd be a quest, but it'd be jarring, with no voice for him.

I watch Alchestbreach and he showcases shitout 4 mods every week. Majority of them are weapons, armours, companions or some guffy stuff. The engine is so limiting the only way to add perks is to use magazines.

Truth to be told, I think modders should not bother with this piece of crap and turn their attention towards different games.

To top it off, Paid Mods 2.0 aka Creation club. If this goes live, it could damage mod scene or worse. What is stopping bethecrap from sueing a mod that is slightly similar to their crap from creation club? Or a rampant mod theft that happened when mods appeared on the consoles?

That said, there still some people who mod this 'game', but with hardcoded restrictions and it being one of the worst entries in the history of the franchise makes it hard to care. Modding is born most of the time from the love to the game. Take away that and suddenly very few people mod it. In order to make skyrim bearable you have to overhaul an entire game. In that case, isn't it better to buy a good game with solid fundation (like witcher 3, NV) and improve on some annoying faults rather than mod a game to make it good?
