How did you discover Fallout ?

In the late 2005 I buy my Xbox 360, because I get catches by the trailer of elder scrolls 4 Oblivion, one of my favourite game of the series... maybe because it was the first.

in the 2006/2007 the owner of the shop where I buy my VGs show me the trailer of Fallout 3 and tell me "They're the same who made Oblivion" and I tell him to get me the collection version of the game.
2 years later I fall in love with New Vegas and then I decided to learn about F1 & F2. Surely the first impact was not what I think but in no time I loved the games... and my English is not very good and some of the dialogues I did not understand XD
In the last winter I played again 1 & 2 I'd like to play Tactics but the file I get from GOG.com years ago doesn't work on my Mac :/

Fallout Tactics is a really under-appreciated game, not a full fallout experience, but it sure holds its own!
I think, for a long time it was confused with the similarily themed but widely hated "Fallout, Brotherhood of Steel", and avoided by most.
Today "Fallout BOS" is thankfully forgotten, and Fallout Tactics is being rediscovered by many

I hope you find a version that works for you, but I had issues making it work myself, and I'm on PC, required some sort of patch...

Yeah, I read about that around on the web.

I know that too. I remember many years ago, when I go to the shop looking for some games many time I watch "Brotherhood of Steel" sometimes I thought to buy that but at the end I never do it ^^'

Yeah, we (this forum) were a tad.... Harsh....
But learning how interplay corporate and herve caen rushed development also helped in the communities reaction to it.

When the pre-release trailer for Fallout 4 came out in 2015, I thought, "Wow, this looks really cool," but at that point my computer wouldn't let me play Fallout 4, so I started getting interested in the previous games in the series. I played Fallout 3, New Vegas, and then when there was a big graphical downgrade in Fallout 4, I picked it up. At the time, I really enjoyed Fallout 3 and 4 (I played them for about 250 hours). Later, after a while, I fell in love with Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 1, and Fallout 2.

I had a friend who was a massive southern Hick who told me about fallout 3 but new Vegas already came out so I started with new Vegas which is a good thing because that's the best fall out of my mind.
Then a friend of mine gifted me his original fallout 1 and 2 discs and all the manuals I mean there's really no skin off his back 'cause he has like 3 copies.

Dude that's awesome

In my own case it was a friend from elementary school moving back to Louisiana. He was in need of a stable mailing address for his package from Interplay to be sent. When it arrived, I gave it to him, and when he was done with the anthology set he gifted it to me. That was where I discovered Norse By Norse West, Redneck Rampage, Battle Chess, and Fallout.

My uncle tried to get me to play fallout 3 in 2010. I was a scaredy cat in regards to things like Cod Zombies, so even ghouls pushed me out of it. But eventually I came round to fallout, if not late, 2014 fallout 4, atrocious f76 demo or beta, it also ran so poorly, then years of trying to get into new vegas, like i had bought all the dlc and was just sitting on it for years. Did two NV playthroughs in april 2024. Then a poor playthrough of fallout 3, i hate the game's aesthetics, anchorage was nice tho. The enclave airfield dlc too.

I started playing fallout 2 in 2022, the aesthetics were wonderful, i like the californian bushes and vegetation a lot. Although gameplay was too much out of my preferences.
And I'm multi, fps, third personbs, RTS, Turn Based strat, RPGS, Visual Novels, Racing games, Fighter jets etc, stealth games, immerisve sims im willing to play most genres, but that classic fallout isometric style is too heavy for me.
