How rich are you in Vegas?

On my next playthrough, I'll make a 10 Luck character and see how far it will get me.

Now that i'm seeing loads of people with more money than me in possesions and overall, i'm going to slog it out, i.e pack muling everything I can sell in a reasonable price, then using that money to buy exsquisite pieces for my collection in Lucky 38. Also, once dead money is on PS3, I will get a lot of money from that through the gold bars, and the chips, because I heard one sierra madre chip can be exchanged for 1 pre-warmoney, so that means 10 caps per chip...jackpot!

I think we won't see the DLC's coming to PC and PS3 until at least June. So yeah, we are shit out of luck here, caps and 10 LUCK or not.

Yeah, I decided to go to the Vikki and Vance casino in Primm, only a 2500 chips winning limit, now I have been booted out of every casino in the Mojave, its like a special privilige.

I keep hearing that the DLC like Dead Money are timed exclusives, but I am not aware of any announcement to that effect. Does anybody in the know happen to have a link/quote to ease my troubled mind?

I know the industry seems to want to squeeze us out of the market, but some people only have a PC and no consoles at all and cannot play the DLC any other way.

They didn't say it's a timed exclusive, but c'mon, as if they'd miss the opportunity to make some more money.
It's all marketing. Making it "exclusive" makes more people buy the Xbox. When the hype is over, they'll release it on the other platforms to maximize profit.

There were no such announcements for FO3 DLC either, but they were timed exclusives.

Or...they wont release it on any other platform so that Microcox has another 'hey, you guys should totally be playing this on the xbox 360 or you wont get all this nifty stuff!' notch on their belts.

I'm not saying this is definitely or even likely going to happen, but:

a) People need to stop claiming it's definitely a timed exclusive. You have no proof of this.

b) Don't trust businessmen. Their job is to exploit you, not give you the things you want. And these are the guys in charge of deciding whether or not people on the PC get DLC for New Vegas, not our dear friends over at Obsidian who made such a wonderful game.

I'm pretty sure that if Obsidian did not switch from GfWL to Steam, PC gamers would get the DLC along with the 360 ones on time.

And well, if they did so in the past, no reason for them to not do it again. It's common for DLC to be released on all platforms eventually. MS payed 50 million for GTA IV's exclusive DLC but even that cash didn't give them exclusive rights forever and eventually it was all released on PC and PS3 as well. I just don't see Bethesda not releasing the DLC at some point, makes no sense.

On my last play through I accumulated 50,000 caps, but then i hit level 30 so I decided to go straight to the last mission, next time I play I will try to do everything, even if it means hitting level 30 too early.

Bethesda made the switch, not Obsidian. The developer doesn't have much of a say in these matters.

Well, good thing Dead Money comes out in 2 days for PS3 and PC!!!

I have approximately 40k-50k in net worth (including value of all possessions). Just an estimate, but I'll go over all my valuable items to get a more accurate figure. I have about 20k in currency at the moment.

Most my income I've made from finding caps stashes and gambling. Got most from Caravan I would figure, as I still have plenty of gambling to do in the casinos (have only been banned from two so far). I've done some "prospecting" but only for highly valuable items (to which I calculate weight to bartar sale ratio).

Anyway, I look forward to gambling in Sierra Madre... hopefully it'll bring more riches my way.

What a coincidence, my hard drive burnt out two weeks ago, it was extremely annoying as I was currently uber l33t at minecraft, but on more of a serious note, I LOST MY FUCKING FALLOUT 1 & 2 SAVES!!!!!!

I hope developers add in expensive things you can buy for those with excessive wealth. (equipment for you or NPCs, or plot items that can impact DLC endings)

Actually, scratch that.

I think a better idea would be to allow you to buy perks with your excess caps.

The first perk would be 10,000 caps. However, after that it'd increase by an additional 10,000 caps each time.

10K- 10K
20K- 30K
30K- 60K
40K- 100K
50K- 150K
60K- 210K
70K- 280K
80K- 360K
90K- 450K
100K- 550K
110K- 660K
120K- 780K
130K- 910K
140K- 1050K
150K- 1200K

It could go on forever (at least until all perks are chosen) or go up just to 14 or 15. It'd certainly give rich players something to do with all their loot.

I've barely gambled - I just tried out roulette a bit and thought it was cool how if you lose and then reload, it says the croupier is "checking the table for potential cheating" or something like that, and won't let you spin again for 60 seconds. I have something like 30,000 plus a load of NCR and CL money.

I've spent plenty before that, in a pretty blasé way too. For example, just randomly buying every weapon mod I see then the weapons to go with them, just for the achievement (prior to that, I'd only modded one weapon). Also, god damn it, no one told me if I kill Mr House, I won't be able to sell Snowglobes any more!

In terms of getting kicked out of casinos, is it net winnings or winnings in one go? Also, is there an easy way to earn money in Dead Money? It seems to get mentioned in such a way, so I'm just wondering.

well I got 10 goldbars from Dead Money, so well make the math, there is no way I am expending that many money.
