I've never done drugs.

I think the most nice way is to jab a pen/screwdriver/skinny phallus through the core of an apple, from top to bottom. Then, make a perpendicular hole that ends in the core around the center.

Just make a apple pipe, that normally does the trick. Poke a hole in the side for a mouth piece and make it intersect with another hole you poke in from another spot. Bingo bango you're done.
Either that or just buy a bunch of devices as I do. Rolling papers will also do the trick, if you can't roll just wrap it around a skinny pen or pencil, lick it to seal it, then close on end of it and scoop your weed into the other side.

Well, you see, I live in Brazil, a great producer of pot. In here marijuana is quite cheap. 100g costs around US$50,00, if you know where to buy it. And this is enough for a few weeks. But pipes are imported, expensive products.[PCE said:

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Most paper is chemically treated and contains lots of garbage that turns into toxic stuff polluting your system.
Just invest (it's a one time investment) in a decent pipe and you're set for years to come. I don't see what the big deal is. Just buy a regular pipe if those arty-farty weedpipes cost too much.

As far as pipe construction goes, you'd be best off making a pipe out of one solid chunk of wood. I don't see why it would have to be treated with anything. From my middle school days as a "martha stuart of home made bongs" I'd highly recommend not using any kind of adhesives. You can always taste it, and who knows what kind of chems you're inhaling.
If you've got a little cash to spend try to get in touch with a local glass blower. They'll usually sell little "spoon" pipes for as cheap as 5 bucks.
