Institute Kidnappings?

at least the goodie goodie minutemen _could_ make sense in the right context and without the silly practice of making random people their "General" for reasons unknown.

If what I remember they kidnapped those poor innocent souls for their inflitration program like the DC mayor and that warwick then used those innocent souls to test FEV on them because reasons. It boggles my mind why they had to include the Orcs and FEV in this game when there is no context to them besides more shit to shoot at but Super Muties make a fallout game a Fallout game amirite?

So if all the super mutants are people they abducted and created synth infiltrators for... Er... Where are all the synths? And hell, all those super mutants running around, that's one hell of a lot of humans. I guess a lot of them could be raiders though. Still. 'That' many people being abducted and suddenly super mutants starts to churn out after each abduction? Makes you wonder why the hell anyone would stay in Boston.

My thoughts exactly, makes you wonder. Apparently there is synth replacement in your own settlements, sometimes your settlers will be replaced by a synth at sometime even if you completed the Institute quest line which is retarded.

Well yeah, it took ovre 200 years for the player to wake up and build those cities for them.
Well you know Preston...

You're the general because Preston is the single most self aware character in FO4, he knows he sucks ass and can't lead shit.

He sure knows that he's a useless NPC and is not allowed to do shit by himself because the player needs to be the hero.

The Institute manages to be more worthless and incompetent than the people at Big MT somehow. Their plans also makes LESS sense.
The difference is, the folks at Big Mountain were supposed to seem worthless and incompetent. Old World Blues was supposed to have wacky and crazy characters, as well as pointless and slightly sinister experiments, and despite the Think Tank being incompetent morons, I don't think they were badly written

The Institute however, were intended to be written as a serious, dark and edgy faction, but they ended up making no logical sense whatsoever.
