7 million and change....this is whats required to buy out interplay lock, stock, and barrel. Thats 100 percent folks. Thats also assuming that the Caen brothers(may they be molested by 400 pound men straight fron gencon) are willing to sell the (from what was reported) 71 some odd percent that they own at .075 dollars.....

People, have we learned nothing from Fallout? All we need to do is borrow some money from the bank, use that to immediatly pay back what we borrowed, and borrow some more money, repeat the process a lot, and we'll have all the money we need! "But wait moron, how will we pay back the bank after we spend money on shares and pizza?" Well, that's obvious as well! STOP BUYING PIZZA, and start buying guns! We all should have fairly good small-arm skills by this point, and they'll never take us alive! MWA-HAHAHA!!!

...

...but I'm staying home. The rest of you can have all the fun.

I understand if you have a NDA, or something, but what reasoning did they give you for the layoffs?? Not fitting in with future objectives, a refocus of the firm, salary costs, having a bad attitude?? :)

Good question and probably alittle of all of the above.

When will these guys learn not to mess with Rosh. Damn that was the first thing I learned.

Wow. Mrfibble lasted all of 6 posts.

Is this some sort of record?

Personally, I look at it this way: if someone gets lippy, give them one post to try to put them back in place and if they won't desist, just ignore them. After that it's up to the mods and the admins... (Requiem aeternam dona eis...)

I never had to learn it, even though Rosh and I had several arguments on a few subjects. Ah, memories.

There's a difference. What Saint and I usually argue on pertains to opinion and the dissection of design points into what would be more favorable, but mostly it is about spotting flaws and bugs. The one thing that makes Saint such a bastard like myself is that he actually dares to go into a discussion or debate while knowing a good deal about the topic.

Shocking!

It's pretty obvious that the people here who want to buy Interplay, serious or not, don't even understand the very basics of economics. Do I have to draw a figure to explain the laws of supply and demand?

Yes!

Remember to use different colored markers for each line on the graph or I'll take off points. :)

A nice, sincere if futile sentiment.

First, the Caens aren't going to sell their shares and they own 71-72% of IPLY. IPLY pays Titus' debts when Titus can't do it for themselves. Kumquatq3 posted this much in the info that was sent to him by somone in the know.

Second, say we were able to buy enough to take over IPLY. Who runs the company then? Do we have 100s pf CEOs?

I don't know if it would be feasable with so many people, but first would be to set up a board. Then nominate, and vote the directors who then would vote to have a CEO to represent the rest of the "company".

This is theoretical, I've never seen a company set up overnight with so many people in the ruling council.

One thing I've always wondered: How was Titus able to get the money to buy Interplay in the first place? I've gone to their website and it looks like they have 4-5 extremely mediocre games to their credit - they can't be making enough of profit from the games they're offering to buy another company, can they?

The Caen's are drug dealers. They're also man-whores, catering to 85 year old men with syphillis. And since they're French, they get funded by various terrorist organizations.
