No further details available, but the Interplay website notes the publisher is bringing the classic Fallouts back to retail.
Retail Edition of Fallout Trilogy Available Now!
The boxed edition of the critically-acclaimed Fallout Trilogy is now available from Best Buy, Target, Walmart and other retailers. This value-packed bundle includes the original "Fallout 1", "Fallout 2" and "Fallout Tactics". For Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP and Vista.

Not meant sarcastic, I guess Herve wants to make one last time money on Fallout before they loose the MMO license.

Corith, what do you think?

Last time money?

Interplay's right to publish the Fallout games they produced is indefinite, not tied to the licensing deal with Bethesda. Interplay will keep publishing Fallout 1, 2, Tactics and if they so choose BoS through GOG and now retail for as long as they want/exist.

Trilogy huh?
I'll bet Bethesda loves that.
It's like Interplay is purposefully ambiguous so they can capitalize on selling it to people who think it's 1-3.

I've seen "trilogy" releases (especially in Poland) long before Bethesda's FO3.

The latest Polish edition has "Feel the atmosphere of the REAL Fallout" on the box.

This was released by Kalisto in Europe last month or so, it was funny to watch old fans with kids on the gaming stores being completely puzzled when finding the boxes.

Does it really sell that much again, that it is worth to bring out a new boxed edition?

Yes. The production of discs doesn't cost that much. And it about that simple. The games are just pure gravy.

In Australia we got the Fallout 1/2/tactics collection a week or so before Fallout 3 was released.

The idea of someone releasing Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout 3 in one package would be very laughable. It's like having raw potatoes and chips in one packet.

already own 3 copies of FO1 & FO2 each. :)

only thing that can get me to buy it again is a release with the original american manual (wire/spiralboundthingy).

They don't suspect how much money could they make if they resemble the original Fallout 2 (or 1) team - or at least, some of the members - to make some short Fallout 1/2 addon in one or two weeks and then include it in the package.

Some simple, and yet good idea, like one or two new locations (small), some new weapons (using old animations), some new perk(s), a new NPC, stuff like that. Even if they declare "we are making this just to earn money", it still will get popularity (and be much better than Fallout 3, lol).

Box art is ugly, but good on Interplay to call this the "Fallout Trilogy" deliberately throwing mud in Beth's eye.

Yeah, they must hate Bethesda for reviving interest in one of the few things Interplay that can provide interplay with income these days.

If Fallout 3 revives any interest in the Fallout Franchise, and actually causes Xbox360 owners to buy these "old" games, I'd be shocked.

Has anyone here bought this new trilogy box? Is it just a repackaging of the same software with zero changes, or has Interplay at least optimised them for more modern, higher resolution monitors? I know there is a resolution mod out there for 1 & 2, but an official retuning would still be nice- not that I'm holding my breath or anything.

Bethesda is trying to revoke Interplay's rights to make an MMO from the Fallout franchise. i'm pretty sure there's some hate floating around.

I could use a new box, my previous trilogy box has pretty much disintergrated.
Then again I already have 3 copies of Fallout 2, 2 of 1 and 1 of Tactics so I think I'll pass.

I got the same thing in the GSP White Label deal.

Kinda mad it was the UK version. but thanks to NMA I was able to fix it right up.

THANKS NMA!

/Edit: 19,99$ and a not so very good looking box.

On the plus side Best Buy has a great financing offer available.

I've still got my copy of Fallout from the Interplay 15th Anniversary Anthology, my original copy of Tactics and the dual-pack of Fallout 1/2 that I bought for $10 from Interplay's online store. Don't think I need any more copies of Fallout.
