Interplay has launched its website, also announcing an OMFGWTFBBQ new hire:
Interplay launches new web site; adds Chris Taylor to growing development team.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, September 22, 2008 – Interplay Entertainment Corp. (OTC BB:IPLY) announced today the launch of an all-new web site at www.interplay.com.

The site, developed over the last several months, is designed to improve the company’s communication with customers, investors, and partners. The new site includes forums based on past and future Interplay games, a customer support section, detailed information on the company and its products, and much more.

The company also announced that Chris Taylor, a game designer who was a part of the original Fallout game development team at Interplay in 1994, has rejoined the company. Taylor will serve as Lead System Designer for “Project V13,” the working title of Interplay’s next generation Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) currently in development. Taylor joins other original Fallout team members on staff at Interplay’s internal game studio, which recently opened an office in Irvine, Calif. Additional development staff members continue to be hired as the project ramps-up.
Oh man Project V13 I really wonder what that is.

Thanks Chris Taylor.

Die dammit die!

We're talking about a company that has now hired two of Fallout 1's original developers to work on FOOL, and you reply with "die dammit die"? What the fuck is wrong with you?

I'm more excited about FOOL right now than I am about Fallout 3. And that is saying something.

Every MMO that I've ever played has been mediocre at best, so I don't really care about FOOL at all.

Good news about Interplay though.

BN, there is nothing wrong with me.

Despite all good intentions and efforts they are going to screw up trust me, not developers but the people running the place.

Project V13 : "The Future was Yesterday"...
Are they mocking Fallout 3 ?

BTW : that's pretty cool news ! Let's hope they don't fuck it up.

I don't like MMOs, but I'm looking forward to Chris and Jason's additions to the Fallout canon.

I honestly wish this would work out, I honestly do.

But Herve has shown from time to time that all he cares about is filling his pockets and escape any payments.

Very possible. This isn't "not vapourware" until it comes out, everyone knows that.

But I'm so sick and tired of seeing certain reflex-like reactions spewed by NMA. The "just die" line was funny 4 years ago, it's time to drop it now.

Well, if one Fallout developer can make me interested in a game of genre I don't care about (Diablo 3), two Fallout developers might be able to do the same for a genre I dislike.

We'll see.

Okay okay, I'll quit with the 'die' line.

But I warn you all with being to optimistic.

Once I truly loved Interplay, I still have loads of their games which I will never sell, but that Interplay is gone.

Yikes, this is the most excited I've been about Fallout in years, and I'm only moderately excited.

I remember reading that a few of the original developers of Fallout were interested in they dynamics of MMO's and wanted to introduce new elements to the genre. Even though it's interplay, this can still be a great vehicle.

I kind of understand. I mean we now have yet another small shimmer of hope to keep us all interested for another few years, would it be better if the game just went away? And once again, the question comes up, will this one be any good? Will we be disappointed again?

I think it's cool that all the publicity Fallout 3 is generating will directly/indirectly help this v13 project.

I know that this is the Interplay that is responsible for Tactics, POS, the cancellation of Van Buren and Fallout 3 being released by Bethsoft in a month...but I'm still glad that Fallout comes back to two of its fathers under a form or another.

I'm dangerously close to start being hyped about this, i really am. If not for Herve, i would be already. :|

It's just.. kind of sad, and ironic. They could be working on a proper Fallout 3, instead of 'just' a spin-off MMO. Oh well.

Let's see who else they'll manage to get on the team.

Tim Cain!
