Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hello everyone! I am a big fan of the Fallout and of the CRPG's in general, prefering them to the whining of the munchkins and roll players around the proverbial table. Can't wait for Fallout 3 but am fearing it will be a different game. Arcanum waa disappointment since the design team fell all overi itself not to repeat anything that TSR/D&D may have metioned previously in BG/BG2. Loved the combat mechanics in fallout tactics. Kinda wish for a CRPG with BG2 roleplaying and the FT/Tactics conflict resolution.

Press 1 now! And welcome.

Hello!

I am the ripper. I am from Norway.
I signed up some days ago and wanted to post my proper hello here as many apparently do.

I have, as some phrased it before me, 'been lurking in the shadows' here at NMA for quite some time now. But I have never posted neither here, nor on any other forum before for some reason. I have, though, been a regular reader of the site since medio 2000. When rumors of Interplay's Fallout 3 and Tactics started to appear around the web.

I am what one might call a Fallout junky, and have loved Fallout ever since I played the demo some time before the release back in '97. I have played through both Fallout and Fallout 2 several times over, but I have been 'dry' for a little over a year now. (I am trying to save it a little longer for improved replay experience.)

My thoughts of Bethesda's Fallout 3 are somewhat mixed.
I have played Oblivion, but never any of the other games in the Elder Scrolls series to compare it to. But from what I have gathered, the hardcore fans of the series feel raped while Bethesda still claim to have made a worthy sequel in the true spirit of The Elder Scrolls.
Even though the developers at Bethesda have stated the opposite, I fear a dumbed down Fallout 3, heavily lacking Fallout's key elements: Isometric view, turn based combat, S.P.E.C.I.A.L and the ability to bludgeon a child in the groin with a sledgehammer followed by the sleeping with his mother, to name a few.

But I keep my high hopes up still. I, I... just need it to get through the day...

Terribly sorry for the bloody long post.

Regards

Hey there.
I've been quietly bushing through the NMA forums for nearly 2 years now. Generally i've been looking for troubleshooting info but all the same, keeping track of all the NMA drama, humour, and postapoc & 50's related info as my boyfriend seems to dedicate a lot of his time to these boards.
Thought I'd say hello & get involved in some discussions.

Cheers,

But still, welcome. I hope we can all make you feel at home. <3 <3

Hey, you can all call me Ricardo, painter, audiophile and RPG/wargamer... also do I hang around 4chan a lot... :/

Absolutely love FallOut, Warhammer, anything Blizzard puts out, C&C related, and stuff like that. Gamewise. That's it, I think.

Oh, in case you're wondering about my playing style...

Hi.

I registered on this site a very long time ago and I only had about 200(?) posts. I'm new, but I've played through Fallout 2 about 10 times I think now.

Fallout is one of the only RPGs on PC I play, what other single player ones are good?

I'm a FPS/tactical shooter fan mostly.

Rainbow Six: Vegas looks pretty gay.

Hi, I just registred a few minutes ago.

What brought me to NMA? My love for the Fallout-series of course! Aww, how I love the story and the Cold War-propaganda (or whatever it is).

You all seem to be a bunch of neat guys (sorry for the 30s-expression) and I hope we can get along.

Well, your post drew my attention to the SpellCheck, so I hope we won't be experiencing this "problem" again, and my grammars, well, let's just hope they don't bother you too much.

;)

Hi! New to NMA, but not new to Fallout. I fell in love back in 1997, and I'm still hooked. I currently live in (freezing) Finland, but hopefully that will change  When I'm not wandering out in the wastes, I'm listening to ragga-jungle or modifying my desktop.
