Fuckin' A!
I'm so friggin' glad!
I knew this would happen, but to be honest: it wasn't sure yet. I had to do some test two weeks ago and work a few days there on trial, but today (about an hour ago, actually) I received the bloody good news:
alec is going to be a journalist for the Federal Department of Justice in Brussels!
You hear that, people? A real job! And a good one as well. I'll be making 1490 Euros netto each month. 1490. That's more than my dad ever made. (And don't forget I have a cartooning job as well, which pays me a well-earned 450 Euros a month!)
Sure, I'll have to get up at 7 o'clock every morning, catch a train to Brussels and then take the subway, and it'll take me 45 minutes to get there and 45 minutes to get back home, but for that amount of money and for that kind of a job, I'm willing to do that.
Well, I'm not going to lie: times have been hard for me. The last three years of my life were misery, misery, misery. Heart-ache, addiction, family problems, never was able to find a decent job, trouble with my publisher, ... you name it, I encountered it. This news is about the best goddamn thing that has happened to me after all that time. That and my new girl.
You're gonna see some changes now. alec is going to be more happy than you guys ever expected. Finally, after all the trouble he's seen, this misanthrope has got something to look forward to. I'm starting in about two weeks. Wish me luck!
