Jericho (post-apoc TV show)

Right, so the main character is a super-altruistic hero guy atoning for a criminal past.

The brother is a womanizer and it's only a matter of time before scandal erupts.

The black guy is part of a radical black group that detonated the bombs.

I'm only going to continue watching because of the post-apoc theme, but the show is starting to irritate me.

Well, they picked up the pace at least. And i'm glad they cut down on the Killers and Goo Goo Dolls for the soundtrack.

Next episode they send out people to look around the town. Could get interesting. Super Mutant armies perhaps??

Dude, my computer says it's something to keep people glued to couches instead of listening to news after "Lost" and "Jailbreak" start boring the general public.

Man, this show is just self-serving American bullshit.

"let's all stay together and rape each other and try to have babies because we are the last humans on earth, and we are conveniently American"

BTW, I have nothing against Murika, but that is what the show is about... Bullshit over-the-top patriotism.

Let's all cry for the fucking world.

Please don't tell me it turned into a Go america BBQ-fest. It had so much potential.

Did you even pay attention to the name of the show? Fortress-Small Town America is going to be the most likely outcome. It's hard to be patriotic when your protagonists are going to seal themselves off from their fellow countrymen.

So far I'm digging the show, but I'm afraid they're going to apply a WB drama mentality to the Post-Apocalypse. Like a post-apocalyptic Smallville. So far, though, things seem to be on the right track. The second episode ending with the black dude silently tacking nuke spots in his study was pretty awesome.

"Four Horsemen" October 4, 2006 3
The rain stops and people emerge from hiding as rumors of a tank battalion traveling west spread through the community. Some of the townsfolk decide to leave Jericho, and a cryptic snippet of a broadcast causes worry.

"The Walls of Jericho" October 11, 2006 4
A dying man who may have radiation burns is found, and he has a mysterious warning; Dale discovers a train loaded with food outside town. A map is hung on the wall that shows which major cities have been hit.

People better start dropping like flies.

There's 22 episodes planned so far, and people in my classes seemed to be talking about it today, so it might have more appeal than you think.

Also, whatever you do, don't look into Beyond Jericho. That is the most retarded shit I've ever seen.

EDIT: Apparently somebody at CBS was informed on what a bunch of campy B-grade shit Beyond Jericho was and they've pulled the plug on the project. The companion site no longer exists.

That show has bugged the fuck out of me lately.

I went from "oh golly, this show has everything!", to "I hope they all assrape each other and die".

I sure hope it picks up.
Apart from the townsfolk general reactions, I find it really interesting (I’ve only seen three episodes).

The scene with the kid on the roof watching the blast cloud and the one with the guy pinning the map are scary as hell.

It seems they 'corrected' some of the radiation mistakes. Apparently the new episode takes place 4 days after the bombs, 1 day after the Fallout cleared. So supposedly they had stayed in the mine and shelter for a full three days. There is now also someone suffering from radiation poisoning.

Today's episode, Federal Response also looks rife for some chaos. I'm hoping fatalities start to stack, because the last episode was pretty weak outside of the guy with radiation sickness.

Apart of other stuff, this show poses a really interesting question.
What would you do if you saw that big mushroom cloud in the distance, in your own country?

This question has been posed before and I will give my answer again. I would go to my shed in my backyard with my 2 chicks and my supplies and guns and start to re-populate the Ghoullove. I would then laugh at my neighbhors and drive them off with my heavily armed chicks.

I watched the show last night. It was a solid hour of some frickin school burning down and also the nauseating rescue subplot of a RESCUE 911 show thrown in to boot. I will no longer watch Jericho.

P.S. The women on that show are to hairy.

I agree there. Really not that interesting. That little girl was just too stupid to live.

But the good thing is that I have TiVo, so I just fast forwarded through the whole fire thing.

What I'd like to know is how that bar still has liquor.

Phenomenal cliff hangar ending, though. I'll probably grow tired of it if nothing's explained within the next few episodes or nobody dies (still).

Agreed. They've also almost completely destroyed the actual post-apocalyptic feeling by having the power restored, food abundant, liquor abundant, still no gasoline problems and just one death.

Although I'll probably keep watching just to know what happens.

The spoilers keep making it sound like things will get worse, but like you said, it's already 5 episodes in and we've only got a few dead cops and some guy.

I like it, but it has been moving pretty slow and the stupid local problems are becoming really boring. The next episode should be interesting.

The show has good promise, however it has poor execution.

They keep including moments of soap-esque drama and bad teen TV. Do I really care if the dep-mayor goes for the barmaid or the Doc, no and I really doubt it would even be on thier minds in such a situation. The ignore the stockboy bit is just too sad a plot arc to even notice.

All those inanities aside, I'm more interested in how they'll survive, who caused it and why. Also what's the black guy really up to, and what's the lead been doing in the past.
