Maybe it's spear ... umm ... named plasma because ... erm ... when you hold it ... uhh, so when it's used ... it's plasma because, you know, plasma is hot aaaaand ... when you got hit then the wounds ... you feel burning pain ... like they'd be burned by plasma ...
Doh, I give up ... plasma spear ? :wtf:
 
All those weapons look kinda weird to me. There's something wrong with that Powerfist and that Sledgehammer as well. Let's just hope that Powerfist is not a Plasma Powerfist and that Sledgehammer is not a Plasma Sledgehammer, eh? :wink:

Predator and Fallout have lot in common, in both you can be invisible, kill with spears and have a nuclear explosion.

On the other hand, there's no Arnie in Fallout.

Well, I tried to make a mod that would be exactly the same as Fallout 2, but i failed... guess we all make our personal in-print. If plasma doesn't hurt why do all folks melt down? are they allergic to it?

Let me try to explain the problem I think most people have with such things as a "plasma spear"

"Plasma" is the fourth form of matter. It is like the sun, the sun is plasma, as is lightning, fire, neon lighting, etc.. Ionized gas, 's what it is. Now you can imagine that to get past the first three states solid-liquid-gas and then go to plasma most things have to be pretty damn hot. Loads of things don't, obviously, or they're just pretty hot. Others reach a temperature of 10^8 K in the form of plasma

That's what Fallout has in the plasma gun. Somehow, nobody knows how, it shoots a "blob" of plasma, the temperature of which is so high that it melts the victim, hence the turn-into-a-puddle thing.

So what exactly did you think a "plasma spear" was? How could you possible integrate something that hurts people by being really hot, much like a flame-thrower (which is also a plasma weapon), into hand-to-hand combat? What does it do? Spit bits of plasma at people? Is the spear made out of plasma? That's impossible, because plasma is more vapourous than bloody gas.

I'm going to assume you just didn't know what plasma is. As you can see, "plasma spear" doesn't make any sense and I assumed you pasted the two words together because it's "cool", like a laser tommy gun or pulse sledge hammer.

Well please don't. It's stupid
 
On the other hand, a plasma sledge (if that's what it is) could make some sense. I guess when it hits something it lets out a blast of plasma from those vents at the front causing a lot of burny hurt; fair enough. Would probably be a lot easier to build than a weapon that somehow focuses the plasma into a projectile form before firing it accurately at distance.
It seems like all of these mods include at least a couple of ridiculous weapons, not unlike the game they're based on (the gatling laser springs to mind). So, cut the guy a little slack.
 
I think we all agree that a plasma spear doesn't work.

Me, when I saw the screenshot, I didn't think of the spear as a plasma spear, but rather as a spear version of the ripper. It's not a bad idea, IMO. Just rename the spear, make it energy cells powered, make it use the ripper sound and you're all set. Make sure it isn't clearly better than the ripper or the supersledge.
 
<warning, nerdy talk> to think of it I read somewhere that lightsabres from star wars are ( or that's the closest to explain what they actualy are ) swords with blade made of plasma, shaped in the glowing stick form by some kind of magnetic field. So if you'd shorten the blade and mount on some longer pole you'd have plasma spear ... that's still stupid tough because it's fallout and spear would be last thing you'd mount anything capable of produce plasma ( not to mention magnetic field thingy ) </warning, nerdy talk>
 
Hm. Wtf? In one of the screens are clearly markes locations Arroyo and Klamath. I thought it was SouthEasternEuropean mod..is it? At least map on the titles says something about it... or I have made terrible guess, have been made myself looking stupid with simple ignorance?

I think dvukomanovic was just demonstrating the "new" stuff in this mod. I don't think Sulik will be in Bulgaria either.

Remember, this is just a test.
