It's much like the Chaos symbol that some circles use along with all the aryan master race Thule fags.

As far as my knowledge goes there really was only a very small group within the SS Regiment and the Naziparty that really used that "occult" stuff like around the Castle in Paderborn (Wewelsburg) for example.

Wewelsburg SS School[edit]
Knobelsdorf led the "SS School, House Wewelsburg". But very quickly the focus of activity shifted away from schooling the SS leadership in a broad set of ideological fields to something much narrower. In fact, work concentrated more on conducting basic pseudo-scientific research in the fields of Germanic pre- and early history, medieval history, folklore and genealogy (Sippenforschung), all intended to provide the underpinnings for the racial teachings of the SS. A scientific library was established. But even the first plans by Bartels from early 1934 did not show any large-scale class rooms, only smaller cell-like rooms for individual study. Among those active at the Wewelsburg was Wilhelm Teudt.

But it was never really something official or widely addobted, due to the fact that the Nazis rellied heavily on the newly formed Reichskirche (Christian Religion) for their propaganda purposes.

The Nazi ideology was really a mix of all sorts of real and pseudo-scientific Germany history and fascist ideology of "ubermensch-superiority" of the German race. Makes for good games though.

I'd say this is kind of the point of the show: Walt's a narcissist who thinks everything revolves around him, and considers Jesse some dumb kid who he can manipulate.

If he actually listened to Jesse more, or kept his ego in check, half the bad stuff that happens to them wouldn't happen.
