If I was an admin I'd ban you without warning.

Hmm, odd.

Banned fucker, next time try to actually READ...
How come he's still posting, Odin? :eyebrow:

He's posting again, because I gave him a break.. But he's still on trial basis.

you see Dixie_Rebel, the thing is that rosh is pretty much totally right in all he said... when i entered this forum i didn't really know much of what went on, so i posted a message, which was wrong in most of it's part(although there are a few issues there i still think the same of them), and, when you do know what's right, and when people like you(and me before) don't know the facts and the background display our ignorance, it can be quite annoying, and doesn't really contribute to this forum, couse it has been chewed on quite enough, and it doesn't make any sence repeating yourself over and over again... though i don't agree with rosh's (and odin's too) policy of overreacting and banning for no reason(ignorance is reason to teach, not ban) as they consider not knowing things for flame baiting for some reason :? just do as they please couse it's their forum... fair enough.

Playing an evil character and having a "Mature" rating are two different issues, they just weren't in ToEE. Playing a bad guy is trendy, having a "Mature" label on the game, thus keeping it off alot of shelves, is something many publisher's won't do. I can't count the number of times I have heard this as an excuse for why some features don't make it into a game. GTA got away with it using a massive marketing campaign as well as a heap of bad publicity. Well, no publicity is bad publicity.

I wasn't talking about BioWare's version of "playing evil". Teen and Mature are earing much more acclaim. Speaking of Acclaim, most of their Mature games did poorly because they were that for the sake of it, not because it suited the setting and gameplay. Others do know how to make a Mature game.

Here's your free Cluepon. Not all publishers are wary of a Mature label, or they say such as an excuse for other reasons. In fact, many publishers put out Mature rated products all the time, and they do very well.

Has their new publisher agreed to a "Mature" label? Until they do I will very much doubt they will allow it. (I DID notice Vampire had an age verification on the main website.....a glimmer of hope perhaps?)

A VtM game without a Mature rating. Do I HAVE to point out everything for you?

And you have conclusive proof this won't happen with their current publisher?

Other than it's a fact that THEY HAD NO CHOICE when it came to removing material from ToEE, and which is also partly why BG3 never came out, you need to take some time and catch up on the last few months since you've watered your clue.

Doesn't answer the question. What proof do we have that *this* publisher will give them a choice? This is what concerns me.[/quote]

Oh, first you say it's because they are spineless and bowed to the publisher's wishes, even though the publisher themselves didn't have a choice, and then use a straw man argument to further try and excuse your ignorance.

Look...I know two things about their current publisher relationship.
1. They balked at the Fallout license
2. They balked at turn-based combat

The first is a given, considering how Interplay pulled the license through the dirt and is now "currently working on a Fallout MMORPG title". The second is because of the preferred style of the publisher. Crack Division has always preferred Action=based games over Adventure-based games. You are probably the last person to have figured that out.

(Snip more bullshit.)

P.S. BG3 has been announced, or at least some official talk was reported in some gaming magazine. There are a few discussions about it at Planet Baldur's Gate. I haven't followed it too closely, though. I think its some kind of prequel.

I dunno, does my clue need more water?

I think you need to take the hint or take your presence elsewhere. This topic is also one of the reasons why Avellone left BIS. I'm not going to continue discussing topics almost a year old for the sake of the clueless.

I'd almost forgotten about that one... Interplay is actually going to pull it off still?

By the way, I'd love to see Troika roshambo Bethesda for the license. 8)

Fair enough, fair enough. I've seen it used as an excuse so many times I thought it was more pervasive than it really is.

Ah, they = the publisher. Gotcha.

Well I was just pointing out it was being made...didn't intend it to be part of the argument. The quote was from the October 2004 issue of PC Gamer and brought up quite a stink in some BG forums. Seemed pretty new to me.

I hereby concede to the wise and very mean Roshambo. I humbly apologize for annoying the NMA community with my ignorance.
