Level 50 Monsters, Equipment and Perks

Blatherscythe

First time out of the vault
As you all know FONV is schedueled to have 4 DLCs that will add 5 levels to the level cap which will add up to level 50. That begs the question. What the hell will we be fighting and what will we be fighting it with?

The four DLCs will add 20 levels on top of the original level cap which is 30. That means we will have 10 extra perks and a massive amount of skill points. If the weapons and armor are to match a level 50 in power then what could possibly harm an experianced human with cybernetic implants, biological upgrades and mutant powers, armed with the best power armor and carrying the best guns?

What would these items be? What would these powers be? What would we need these things to fight?

Legion trained Deathclaws in the Battle of Hoover Dam?

I don't think the Legion allows anything mutated into their ranks. their like Nazis, only their stupid, backward and have stupid uniforms.

I wonder if a society basing themselves off the Nazis would've been more believable? Like the NCR in that they have uniforms and an organized army, but policy-wise completely different.

Inb4 Enclave were like Nazis

The Legion are mroe about absorbing strong communities and using the weak one to their advantage, call them backwards all you want but it is stated that Legion controlled territory is almost crime free, they are brutal and violent people, but they get their goals done. Also I don't see how would the Legion know that Deathclaws are mutants, the only margin of reference they have is their own mutated dogs. Maybe give the Legion Deathclaw Gauntlets and Helmets made out fo Deathclaw skulls? maybe even have a random spawning of Cazadores and Deathclaws durign the Battle, all of them attracted to the smell of food.

Here's a sharp piece of rusty metal with a handle, some leather armor and a tunic. Go fetch us a deathclaw to breed for war and make better weapons and armor from.

Also wouldn't they be discouraged from joining the fray due to all the noise, gunfire and sheer number of people in the battle?

They have pieces of SUpermutants, NCR troopers and even of BOS power armor in their centurion armors, I don't see why a high ranking legion recruit wouldn't eb able to make a deathclaw battle set forhimself.

It's pretty hard to belive it unless they zerg rushed a guy in power-armor with a high tech gun or a giant green man who specializes in close quarters combat and heavy weapons.

The Machete Gladius, the chansaws, ballistic fists and Thermic Lances, grenades and mines are pretty strong, and they are all used by the Legion. Not that hard to imagine them killing them with those weapons. Hell if you put the skill points where it is needed and do some hti and running you can do it yourself with lesser weapons.

Oh yeah? Legion veterans are armed with 12.7mm pistols and SMGs.
Do you people saw what an 12.7mm SMG do to Power Armor?

It shred to pieces.
Easily.

Well, they are now. Prior to the latest patch I never saw anyone from the Legion running around with it.

also. only thx to the gameplay mechanics of F3 power armors are made of news-papers and forks, machetes and such can punch trough. Luckily mods can correct those.

I think if the only way to make things more difficult on "higher levels" is to give their attack 1000 more damage and some 5000 Health points it shows how flawed the "gameplay mechanic" is. I mean at some point you will ALWAYS reach a limit. That is why each Fallout game starts with a new character and not simply let you continue with your old one. But I always had the feeling in those "old" and "traditional" RPGs the system was better thought-out. Particularly some turn-based RPGs. Like Jagged Alliance 2 for example. Even if you had the best equipment and great training you could still get in difficult situations.

Really? I always saw leginnaries equipped with them when going to The Fort and in the Mojave from level 25, even before patch 1.2.

But it is only with patch 1.3 that the weapon is usable, I give you that (the spread was even higher than a minigun).

If you can point what mods are those I would be immensely grateful, because most mods trying to correct the DT system actually break the game.

Bah, the extra perks and skills aren't a problem. If you make a fighter you can max the offensive skills and take all the perks you need at level 20 or below. Unless Obsidian adds broken weapons and perks in the next DLCs (I doubt it if Dead Money is an example) the only problem, relatively speaking, are HPs. Not that big of a problem, though, since it's just 100 more HPs. Just give to all the enemies the best weapons they are allowed to carry and you are done.

By the way, isn't it stupid that END doesn't affect the amount of extra HPs per level?

Dunno. That is how I like my power armor

To be a bit more serious. Yeah ... most mods give it simply insane DT numbers. But at least that means othe enemies in PA are not easy to take out either. And on the other side. Geting that PA is hard work. It should feel rewarding.

Actually END influences the ammount of HP you gain when leveling, but the amount between levels and the difference from a higher or lower END is very small.
For example, with 8 END you gain 15 HP per level and with 10 END 20 HP.

I discovered that for beating Cass when wiskey challenging her, you need at least 9 END.

Are you sure about that? The Vault gives the formula as:

95 + (END x 20) + (5 x Level)

Sorry, I made a mistake, I forgot that is + 5 HP each level and completely disregard (END x 20).

I have 9 END in level 25, so my HP are 400.

If I had 8 END my HP would be 380.

Well, there could always be a place unlocked with Lonesome Road filled with Mother deathclaws, Alpha Males, and maybe a couple legendaries for good measure.

I'm pretty sure we'll see a substantial faction upgrade as we level up. Just like how when you hit your 30s you start to see NCR Vet Rangers and NCR Power Armor, we may start to see more Centurions and some more trained beasts. My bet is the Legion will get some cyber dogs because Anthony spoke of them being "uncommon in Denver, but you see them".
