M o v i e Q u o t e s

The answer is Walk the Line, the upcoming Johnny Cash biopic. I guess I cheated a little bit, since the movie isn't out yet (that quote is in the trailer). :)

Oh, no tears, please... It's a waste of good suffering!

Hellraiser!

And yes, you damned well cheated. Be...ashamed!

X: C'mon, c'mon.
Y: You're making me nervous!
X: I'm making you nervous? Gimme that! Gee, could it be this one with "front gate" on it?
Y: yeah, that's the one!

I do mang. So far It seems I've only been quoting movies in which the protagonist goes insane out of loneliness. This one's a bit different, but still has a personal connection. Not too hard i think:

Your friends are shit. You tell them you made 25 grand last month, they're not gonna fucking believe you. Fuck them! Fuck 'em! Parents don't like the life you lead? 'Fuck you, Mom and Dad.'

Boiler room. If I remember correctly that speech goes on for-fucking-ever.

Needless to say I little liked Boiler Room

My previous quote was Eight-Legged Freaks, one of the rare high-classic moments of that underrated film

Now lemme think, hmmm...

Hmmmm...

Hurrrrrr....

Duuuhhhrrr...

Oh well...

X: What, you guys come off an assembly line or something?
Y: That is correct

Boiler Room. Great flick, kind of a Glengary Glenross for 20 year olds.

X: Someone, or something, has outwitted the intelligence of the gorillas.
Y: That shouldn't be difficult.

Kharn: Terminator 3

Malky: One of the Planet of The Apes movies, doesnt matter which though since it wasnt your turn anyway.

X:This dude got dogs. I don't do dogs... I had a real bad experience, man.
C: What happened?
X: I had. A bad. Experience. Damn it. I'M deaf?

The Italian Job (remake)

X: It's very pretty.
Y: Yeah, I've been fooling around with it for a few months.
X: It's a bit of a departure from what you normally play.
Y: It's part of a trilogy, a musical trilogy I'm working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why.
X: It's very nice.
Y: You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really. It's sort of...
X: What do you call this?
Y: Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump".

I know, I did itwo quotes from one movie 'cause I love that scene so much. Different quotes, though, same scene

And what does "TKFCM" stand for? It doesn't make sense

And An American Werewolf in London. Brilliant bit by Landis, that, great, great movie. 'e directed Kentucky too

As for a new quote...

Um, well, while we're waiting for the quote, I'd like to briefly say something about Boiler Room.

When i first saw it, i liked it, but was not that impressed by it. I was particularly annoyed by the amount of tasteless swearing. It just seemed a little too immature and pointless. But i have a very different opinion on the movie now. It actually does a great job of portraying what kind of people become rich and powerful in the financial world during the booming 90s. I say this from a personal experience, since i work with these types of people everyday now. And that long speech that Ben Affleck gives is one of the most important parts of the movie. Everything he says in that speech is just so amplified to me since i see it happening in real life. That's the type of attitude companies want from future traders. "Fuck everyone, I'm here to make money not friends, i will work my ass off and $$$ (or in my case ¥¥¥) is my only god." And yes, swearing is an important part of the job. I have a lot more to say about this, but i'll do it a little later in my Tokyo thread. Sorry for the digression, carry on with the quotes.

Mayhap I should view Boiler Room again, but it hardly strikes a note with me since that is neither the world I live in nor intend to live in.

I kind of forgot to post a new quote, sorry...

Gimme a second...

Such a violent temper. But a very nice nose.

And, supporting, the final remark of the movie in the original language, if somewhat misquoted:

Le nez, ma cheriè, le nez!

I dunno the english names... Two very famous french comic characters meets cleopatra.

Asterix and Obelix are their names, I'm just wondering if you're referring to the recent real-actors film Asterix et Obelix contre Cleopatre or the 40-year old cartoon Asterix et Cleopatra

No the movie that i was forced to watch through with my cousins this very summer. It was dubbed, I just translated the norwegian title.
