According to Moviehole.net, Mad Max 4 is in pre-production...again.
After several false starts, one major budget blowout and a thrillion chuckles, George Miller’s “Mad Max 4 : Fury Road” is finally juiced and ready to go. Its production quarters re-opened at Fox Studios in Sydney this week.

One of Moviehole’s longest - not as in length (well not that we know of) but in terms of how good he has been to us over the years (setting up set visits.. basically giving us access to things we normally couldn’t have gotten) – friends called today from the lot to let us know that “Fury Road” has finally got a greenlight, with pre-production commencing immediately.

It sounds as if Miller will be working on this film, and “Justice League” concurrently – the latter is also set up at Fox Studios – as well as…. “Happy Feet 2”.
Link: Mad Max 4 is back on

Thanks Bewaltz.

What's the 4th one about? Mel Gibson finds the Spear of Destiny and discovers the plot to nuke the world was hatched by the Jews?

No but really, hopefully this one doesn't tank, unless, you know, Bethesda buys the rights or something.

hopefully they dont fall into the same trap they fell in for nr3...
Hello to all NMA!
Well, I was about to say just the same thing. And I just hope it won't be loaded with VFX like the most of the modern movie crap, and the pressure will be put mostly on the SERIOUS (!) plot like in the first part, that was definitely the best. God save the series.

PS. And, as this is my first post here ever, I would like to pay my respects to all Fallout fans, especially my favourite one, Rosh, whose posts I read with a delightful pleasure. :)
Go WASTE'em, Rosh!

Awesomesauce.

With a big, fat Australian cherry on top.

I actually just picked up a double DVD set of parts 2 and 3. I already had part 1, and this was a steal at $10 for the pair.

I figure it'll tide me over until they make some fancy re-release of the whole set on blue ray or hi-def or whatever standard eventually wins out.

Like everyone else said, hopefully it won't suck. :D

Oh but it will, it will. I can almost guarantee it. Look at the massive raping that was Die Hard 4. Okay, this is a bold assumption on my part, but generally speaking. Most if not all movies these days are either a) Retelling, rewriting, or raping of classic movies. or b) Unoriginal, uninspired drivel. I.E. Video game movies, seven thousand horror movies, romantic comedies that nobody wants to watch ECT ECT. You get the point.

I just personally haven't seen a movie recently that's made me say WOW!

So you have the same, competent director, but assume that it will suck because other movies out at the moment are bad, yet if the original Fallout devs started to design a new RPG, I doubt you would say that it will suck just because most other recent RPGs do. At worst, I would expect Mad Max 4 to be alright, but not total crap. But of course we won't know for a while.

Oh... wait... that's a cartoon about penguins or something, ain't it?

Hugh Jackman

I don't see him pulling off an Australian road warrior, though I really like Hugh Jackman as an actor. If anything he should do more characters like Conquistador Tom Verde from The Fountain (the movie aside, the Inquisitor and Conquistador Verde were two great characters, in my opinion).

When I hear Mad Max, I can't think of anyone but el Gibson, but he's gone so far off the deep end, I don't think he fits.

Of course, he needs to redeem himself for Beyond Thunderdome.

Definitely not the movie to be part of MM.

Mel will not star in it.

Hugh Jackman is Australian, and a quality charismatic actor to boot, but I keep thinking of his bright singing in musicals rather than the more gritty work, such as Wolverine. He could pull it off and knows the director well, although he might also be tied up with other work such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Exactly what I was thinking of. I just don't see him as the road warrior.
