It's been a few months, but there's some bits and pieces of stuff coming out for the Mad Max game in development at Avalanche Studios. They are making an open world game that's been in the works on and off since 2003. First a possible in-game image shared via twitter:

Be aware there's a chance it's actually from Just Cause 3.

So to understand this right, they've finished filming, and their cast includes Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy. Yet there are still few details about the actual movie and IMDB has it set for 2014. Is it normal for movies to have so little known around them? I would think with decent names in the cast like that, the movie would start getting some momentum.

Yeah, it's pretty normal. There's as much secrecy behind this movie as there was for Prometheus. Possibly more when you consider they filmed in the middle of nowhere making it extremely difficult for paparazzi to follow. Most of the videos, pictures and info were leaked out by crew members who also post at the madmaxmovies.com forum.

The original plan was to be a direct tie-in with the movie. I'm talking about the 2003 version when Mel Gibson was still Max. When the movie was put on ice so was the game. A few years later they restarted development Corey Barlog left and I'm assuming much of the game was retooled. I have no idea if it's connected with Fury Road anymore or if they created a separate Mad Max open world adventure game. The shreds of info coming out supports the latter.
