Excellent concept art studio Massive Black has been publishing a stack of exquisite New Vegas/Mothership Zeta concept art by way of its blog. Check out some art of Caesar's Legion from New Vegas and tech from Mothership Zeta.

Yeah, the concept art looks a lot better than what was turned out. As for Mothership Zeta, not a huge fan of the art or what was in-game.

If the Legion was like the concept art, they probably would be a better faction to play.
I think the DLC regarding Ulysses will shed new good lights over the Legion, but I think the main concept in the game can't be corrected anymore.

How was Caesar's Legion not preserved? The clothing they wear is the same, the place is the same even if in the game it's clearly less grandiose (then again, same thing counts for every other place when the switch from concept art to in-engine happens).. I'm really not sure. I don't really like Caesar's Legion all that much, I think that in many ways they were a missed opportunity (and veered a little bit too much into the historical nerd territory) but I don't really think that the engine is too blame for that.

That's from the official game guide? Maybe I should buy one, even if not for the text information in it...
 
I wish we would have some of the other legion clothes in the game. There are some fancy loose clothes on the concept arts that look more natural than the stuff they wear in the game.

If I would have better 3d and 2d skills, I would try to recreate them.

Camp McCarran is one location ingame that is faithfull to the concept art.

I think the problem with the Legion is just that, grandiose, you don't have the impression they are a huge invading army.
The same goes for New Vegas, the concept art gives you a better idea about the segregated city than the one implemented on the game.
