Max Payne the movie is.... [SPOILER WARNING]

I've seen the movie few weeks ago, and I don't felt like I've watched the Max Payne movie. It was some other, cheap crime flisk with Max Payne on it.

God, and I was waiting for Max Payne's movie for years, since I played the first game...I was...I was just a kid! Dreaming about seeing a movie! To the game I loved...and now...that kid's dream will never come true...

DAMN YOU HOLLYWOOD!!!
 
I dunno, it looked like it had some potential, it had good athmosphere, but apart from that was pretty horrible, and I had to look really really hard to find anything good left from the original.
 
It had potential, a good one. Locations were nicely done, although there were little of them, and those 2 slo-mo action scenes were very good IMO.

thats the general idea of every movie which is based on a game.

Doom = Crap.

Hitman = Crap

Resident Evil = Post Apocalypse Crap.

etc. etc...

The only movie which doesn't sound like its gonna suck is Warcraft. but we wont see that till 2010 (presumed.)

Watched the film last week and well, I don't think it was bad as a movie but it was bad as a Max Payne movie. If nobody would have told me that this is Max Payne, I wouldn't have recognized it.

Its a movie based on a game ... one should be already happy that its not a Uwe Boll production ...

Yeah, if all the names were different (not like in the games), I would say it's a nicely done, average crime movie. Inspired by the Constantine.
 
Watched it...sucked. The only good thing about it was the general atmosphere of the city, rather close to that of the games.

Oh and did they miss the fact that Mona Sax was hot and had a sexy voice in the ( second ) game ? Because, well, Mila Kunis is a fugly biatch.

RE1 was a brilliant athmospheric horror/action.

RE2 was an average game-themed action-flick.

RE3 was a weird Mad Max ripoff XD
 
There's this weird phenomenon with really bad films.. if enough time passes they become 'cult' and therefore watchable. Try watching Super Mario or Streetfighter and all you can detect is large quantities of win and epic. Films SO BAD they're good. This is why one day people will look back on Uwe Boll and love him.

That said, if he even TRIES to touch a good game i'll personally shove several CDs in a really uncomfortable place. And that doesn't mean the back of a Volkswagon.
 
Watched "Max Payne" not so long ago.. Only thing decent about it was the visual style, I thought. Wahlberg was pretty good in "The Departed" and "I Heart Huckabees", but he totally sucks as Max Payne, I didn't see a single resemblence. At least they could have filled the movie with action, which Max Payne games are all about, but that didn't happen either. Still better than anything from Uwe Boll though.
 
I'd have to disagree with the majority here, I liked M.P the movie... It followed the original story, added extra depth and dimension through its presentation and detracted very little (so much so that I re-installed the game!)

But, each to their own...
