You have already passed the level requirement. Alright, I'll check out the script.

Edit: Ok, I found the problems. When I was originally trying to figure out how to implement this, I had two alternate methods in mind. I switched gears midway through, and the two are both kind of mixed together. So, here is the fix for this, for now:

Go to your data/scripts folder. Delete gl_armor.int. Then, due to your level or possibly a certain skill level, you will be able to wear power armors. For others reading this, there is still a certain item that you can also use that would help you use power armors. However, you will not be able to receive training from NPCs, because they will be trying to check your inventory for other items.

Edit 2: So, to reiterate-
Delete gl_armor.int from the data/scripts folder.
You can still use the item to get training.
You can still pass a level check.
You cannot get training from certain NPCs.

I have already made the fixes and they will be available in 2.45.1 (hopefully by this weekend).

Hi MIB, thx for this new update.
I start played yesterday and right now only things to change is: Klint and his automatic healing because this freeze the game.

This happend ONLY if you are in Arroyo - if you leave, everything is ok. Please turn this off, healing trough the dialog option is 100% better realy:grin: I try this and is working.

Klint is set to only automatically heal you in Arroyo. All other locations it is done through dialog. I may change this in the next release.

All anti virus is disabled (and uninstalled, ruining experience...)...

There really isn't if you are severely wounded, he is in your party, and you in Arroyo.

EDIT2: Ok, made my investigation and seems like anyone with Windows 7 64 bits is fucked up to run any mods, guess I'll try on a VirtualBox.

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? Also, are you having other issues with the mod, or are you still just referring to the freeze with Klint?


Whats the requirements to wear power armor now. I cant figure it out and I need to wear it in order to continue the game(I didn't go there early in the game,im there when im supposed to)

I don't give specific gameplay advice. From the readme:
---Maybe a certain item will allow you to wear power armors
---Maybe there is a level requirement
---Maybe certain NPCs can help you

If you have gone there "when [you're] supposed to", then there is no way that you should have a problem with the armor. I'm referring to the level requirement. It's not a crazy-high number. What level are you? If you meet the minimum level, that means my script is messed up and I need to fix something.

However, you have gotten me to thinking: I wonder if I should increase the level? Also, I need to add "dumb" dialog to the NPCs who can teach the player character to wear the armor. Right now, the dialog is geared to those characters with at least average intelligence. It may seem a waste considering the level requirement is not that high. However, it's always fun to write "dumb" dialog.

I have not tried yet to run this in a Windows XP. About the antivirus, I uninstalled it because besides giving me problems on other games, it was giving a false positive on one of your files, if I remember correctly, soundrnsc.exe or something like that, I can't recall it. I was using Panda Cloud Antivirus (Free edition), made my report to their labs, but was the last problem I was going to have with antiviruses. I had it enabled for my parents use, but now I'm the only one using the computer and I know enough about security not to be concerned about false positives.

As to running it in compat mode, the game won't let me. Any try of changing the settings about graphics (color depth) or Windows compatibility triggered an error "Fallout is running compatibility mode!" and couldn't run the game. I don't know much about fallout mods but I would guess it has something to do with the SFALL mod, or any mod concerning graphics.

If I can be of any help let me know.

EDIT. I've been watching the scripts, which programming language is that? Resembles a lot to Oracle/MySQL and other language I used for my electronics simulators. It is some short of primitive C?

Soundrnsc.exe? Can you locate that file in your Fallout 2 directory? I don't recognize that file at all. And, I would hate to think that some crazy file was slipped in at whatever site you may have downloaded the mod from.

And you're right: I get the same compatibility error as well on my Vista machine. Maybe that is something from sfall. Of course, I never noticed that before because, most of the time when I play/mod the game, I am on my XP machine.

As for the language, yeah, it is just C. Or C+. I really don't know. I just know it is something fairly primitive, like you said. I am not a programmer. I just learned enough of it to mod the game. ;)
 
Maybe this will help: I play this Mod on Windows 7 64 and I don't have problem with running. I always use playing this mod:
High Resolution Patch (right now 4.18 ver) and SFALL (always nearly the newest ver. - right now 3.2a). Sometimes thare are CTD but also in the orginal game so it happened.

The 44 version I have also from Nirran site but I used Win Installer to install the mod.

I didn't want to bore you with details. Seems I should have told you at least part of it:

That script changed the armor to a useless item until you received training. Not totally useless: you can still get money for it. However, once the armor has been changed to a useless item, just deleting the script will not make it armor again. Sorry, but you will need to get new armor AFTER you have deleted that file. Or, use a save game from before you got the armor in your inventory.

Oh, if you got it from Nirran's site then it's fine. Still not sure what that soundsnsc.exe file is, though.

Maybe there is something wrong with the Manual installation (from Nirran site) that uses MadCake92, because we use the same operating system. For me the Mod is working, for him not. Also I don't have a soundsnsc.exe file.

Sorry, lost track of who I was responding to. It was Madcake92 who said he had that file. Nirran is pretty squared away. I doubt there is anything wrong with either the manual or installer versions. But, I guess it is possible. Hopefully, by the time I am ready to release version 2.46, which will be a full repack, these errors can be resolved.

wtf? so my game is ruined then? I cant use the enclave armor and I attempted to put on the armor in the military base as well. so since I have no access to the brotherhood of steel bunker, theres no more power armors? wtf? that's ridiculous.

Again: Load a game from before you got the power armor in your inventory. Are you saying that of the 100 or more saved game slots you now have available to you, none are before you got the power armor?

Or, you could get more from San Francisco.

Or, you could also try not freaking out, get a hold of yourself, and read the private message I sent you over an hour ago. (And, if you do what I said in that message, then you need to put that gl_armor.int file back.)

ok, I got one from san Francisco,it works now. but im having a problem with the BOS bunker now. heres what I did just in case im the one messing up. I went to the BOS bunker after delivering the vertibird plans to the outpost inside san Francisco, talked to the main dude in the entrance who told me to go to the surrounded patrol that's besieged to find out whats going on. o get there and the dialogue goes just fine I book it out of there as my character suggests and head back to the BOS bunker. when I get there I get a new map thingy(where you select which area of the map you want to access) and theres nothing to select. Am I missing something or is it bugged?

everything seemed running fine up until toxic caves. there is no exit grid, ive done a search and did the stuff here but to to avail..

any help is much appreciated

I don't use the high resolution mod, which is why the settings can be a little messed up.

Look for a post by Nirran. Look for a post about changing a setting regarding map edges from 0 to 1.

Hey guys,

a huge "wall" appeared in my inventory all of a sudden, weighin in at 4000 or so. Dropped it in a city and it crashed the game on saving, so I reloaded and dropped it in the wasteland.
Is it something to worry about? Savegame corruption?
 
I need A LOT more information regarding this one before I can look into it.

1. Is it reproducible?

2. Where were you when it appeared?

3. What were you doing when it appeared?
a. Did you get it after talking to someone?
b. Did it originally appear as another object?
c. Did you get it by looting a corpse?

4. What kind of wall? Are you referring to a piece of scenery?

5. What did it look like when you dropped it?
 
Its kind of weird, I dont know how it appeared, I just made a visit to the Den via Scraptown, and I don't think I had it before Scraptown. In the Den I only talked to the drug dealer in Residential, then the other 3 merchants in town just to sell some items. Then I had an encounter just outside the Den and I didn't loot anything there since it was just a few scorpions. Thats where I saved and have it in that save. Dropping it in the wasteland makes it look different than dropping it in the city.
Don't have any more details, but I have the savegame if you want to take a look.
