If you try to use falche on the save file and then start the game then you'll get 2 stange perks. Night vision sight and something about flameboy and the picture is you married with a fat guy. :?

I tried to use it because i'm on a recognition run to see if everything works fine. So far found some error lines and misspelling errors that i'll report to MIB88 as soon as i can.

haha well at least it worked for you...whenever I try to open a save falche2 says "Character data (main 1) not found" I'm getting killed by ants here!! haha yeah I also just wanted a superchar so I can run around and see all the new changes faster...
 
Ummm... now i look really dumb, When i tried reinstalling i sent it to c:\fallout2 to no luck and then tried c:\wasteland\fallout2 and still nothing.

New morning and a new install to c:\program files\fallout2 and voila, ive taken my first visible steps into the temple of trials.

Sorry to bother you all :)

What can we do about those missing sound files?!?!

Edit: just checked to see if i could save and thats all good.

it occures to me that i was always putting the readme folder in the main directory (with critter.dat and fallout.exe) this time ive put it in data with everything else, doubt this could contribute but just so everyone knows. might help one day :)

Does the Shaman profession work for anyone else? I had completed all the steps required to get to the status, i have the profession trait and the mortar and pipe but I cannot acess the menu to create things.

I recall when i played the new vision mod you either put it as a weapon and click on it, or in inventory you right click on the mortar and select "use" but both methods dont work. In fact when you right click on the mortar all it has is "look, drop"
 
I installed it and played through Arroyo, so far it's good, But I'm still
got that crossed error message in pib boy quest rooster above Arroyo. :?

Still have the same problems with the kaga encounter, it is really bugged, it asks me if i want to go to the encounter, and if i say yes my char continues the travel, and when i arrive in any city or encounter, it gives an error of missing item and game closes, in uk and us versions, what that might be?

I, unlike many others who post in this thread, can read. I saw this the first time you posted it. The answer might require you to reinstall the game. And, like the readme says, place the entire proto FOLDER on read-only, or else corrupted files could enter that folder. That is what kept happening to me. Did you do that when you installed the game? I mean, immediately, not after you played some of the game?
 
I think you misunderstood me, i only posted it again because i said that i would test the problem in US version
On the first post, i had only tested the UK version.
As for setting it to read-only, i did it before start playing, and about reinstalling, i did it twice with each version of the game(Uk and US,starting all over again its killing me hehehehe).
The way i installed it: Cleaned install of previous fallout 2, installed it in a complete new folder,copied the data folder of your mode and replaced the fallout 2, set the proto files to read-me only, replaced the fallout2.exe from the original fallout for yours, then start playing.

Oh, and thanks again to let me get lenny, im anxious for your new files.

No. I did not say to set the proto files to read only. The whole FOLDER. This includes the folder, subfolder, and files. Errors were creeping into the proto\items and proto\critters subfolders. That is why I said place the whole proto folder on read-only.
 
Yes, thats exactly what i did, set the whole folder to readme only.
But still, im gonna make a fresh install again

OK. Had enough for a while. I will continue to mod this game, because I enjoy doing this. However, I will not be visiting for a while. I can't deal with being asked the same questions over and over. Really tired of people not reading the thread. I had one person who wanted to know what was in the mod, because he admitted to being too lazy to read through the thread. I told him where the info was. And then cut and paste everything from the two readme files. He responded back with "Thanks. I haven't thought of reading the readme." So, since I can't actually strangle the offending parties, I am going to leave for a bit to keep from openly cussing people out.

Heodien, I asked you some information regarding the problem you were having. Please e-mail that to my yahoo account so I can work on this.

I'm getting the exact same problem that heodien is getting.

Edit: Anyone having this problem should try doing this:
Open up worldmap.txt, search for "pid:16777740"
Rename that to "pid:16777739" which is the ID for KAGA1
Save, then the next time you encounter him, the game won't crash.
Apparantly there was some issues with the inventory for "pid:16777740"
Might want to look into it some more. Theres only one drawback though..
We don't get to see him in better armor, but it's a workaround till it gets fixed.
 
Alright, i got the game up and running, and now I'm in the Klamath. How do i go to the klamath caves? I have a dynamite, tried using it on rocks on the entrance, putting it near the rocks, attaching the metal pole to the rocks, and nothing. Is it a bug, or am i doing something wrong?
 
Read the New Vision thread. They made the mod and i'm sure that the answer is in there somewhere.

It definitely involves dynamite in the gararge with the rocks. Maybe your positioning is wrong.

You have to blow the rocks in the garage in left corner of the map, not the original ones, and just put in front of it
