Forget the Taxi, you have enough transportations in the wasteland. Otherwise, I will think that the world never changed and the fuel is allover and you have gas stations at every goddamn corner:)

The taxi is already on megamod. Just gave an idea to do it less "cheating".
But as MIB88 said he has much work on his hands atm.

(To be honest i don't really like the taxi idea also, but it's already inside the mod :? )

I've got a few more ideas based on Fallout Bible and the possibility of BOS quests. If you still want me to madly rant about it, let me know. Also would explain the apparition of some of the vehicles from Fallout tactics(see MIB statement). The original Highwayman was supposed to run based on either nuclear fuel(which means an unlimited supply of energy), either on some kinda of cleaner source of energy(also unlimited). Was also supposed to have weapons, ammo and be capable of taking damage. The weapons would include some bond style machineguns and rocket launcher. Didn't mad in because of the limited time that BI had back then.

I can take care of summing up the whole thread, but not now, maybe in a week's time. Got exams coming :-p

Perhaps at the Enclave you'd be able to get a list of local Vaults with their positions, and the opening codes. Once you've finished the game you'd then be able to visit those Vaults, and help them get set up in the postapocalyptic world.

Sure, if you can do this, I am sure there are some people who would be really grateful.

As for getting more locations of vaults, that could work, if someone already has some maps drawn up. I have Lich's Vault 5, but how it fits into the game is already mostly worked out. But anyway, why help the other vaults? You could just as easily go in there and be a total terror!

And yes, Demonslayer, as I put the Taxi in, I don't plan on taking it out. If you want, feel free to delete the taxi graphic in the scenery folder and the ataxi.int in the script folder and it will be gone (the easiest thing is just not to use it, of course).

@ Wolfsrain: It might be better to post any ideas for the mod in the thread devoted to FO2 mod ideas, and keep this thread just to items that are already included. But do post them, as I am sure people would like to hear them and add their own ideas/comments as well. As for adding all that stuff to the Highwayman, it doesn't really add to the game any. Sure, it might explain the modified Highwayman in Tactics, but there is no need to have all that stuff on the player's car, unless this game could have elements of Autoduel brought in. Ah, Autoduel...

Well to fit with the freedom of the game you should be able to all sorts of things: help them get set up, link them with New Arroyo (best), with VC (sorta ok), with NCR (good), sell the stuff to the slavers (bad), pillage the place for tech for the salvatores that have no enclave (really bad),...ok I put down the ideas when do you guys start coding :P

:) Gonna take a little more than that. Hell, I've got lots of ideas! :P Actually, for me coding is the easy part. And I can do dialog, too, as long as I have a fleshed-out, clear picture of things. It's the frakkin' maps and graphics that are difficult for me.

BSG fan I presume :)

As I said I'm in my exams atm...but I contribute to any dialogs or setting up of quests and the like if the coding is done by someone else...ok I'll start next monday :)

Glad it's working now. I have gone back and checked out what I uploaded in the last update, and of course that file is there. I can't think of a single fix to this file that was included in the Megamod. Seriously. So, I guess that is one of those corrupted files I was talking about that was created in my proto folder, before I started marking the folders themselves as read only. Thanks for letting me know about this. I'll need to check some of the other NPC proto files now.

And yes, Stormcrow, I'm a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica.

I will help you wathever I can, with very much pleassure.

BTW I'm Battlestar Galactica fan myself.

Why i get the feeling we will start walking a square and enconter a map?

The world map is too small for so many maps..
Also i would like more dept in the existing maps and the ones added than just add 50 new maps. It's nice to see new locations, but to be honest i saw bunker 21 and the other new maps and it didn't appeal me much, dunno why. It's fun to discover the background of each map and play some quests on it. Just my opinion.

Well, a couple of things here. You are right about the number of locations, one of the reasons why I have on my to do list getting this mod to work with the XP mod, as it increases the size of the worldmap. But look at the mods out there. I went through initially and gathered a whole bunch of them up and put them together in one place. But how many of them add quests and truly have life? Only a few. The others, until recently, were all just icing on the cake. I try to limit that stuff now. That is why you will see me ask someone about a certain concept or idea they have, asking "what does it really add to the game?" (However, I am also considering the cost in time and energy making something a reality to any new the benefits when I ask that.) Anyway, until more of these story-driven mods come out, we are kinda limited here.

I am experiencing the same problems as EternallyShattered and others regarding the Temple of Trials. I have searched this forum for solutions and attempted those I found, but it hasn't helped.

I am running the US version of Fallout 2

I have deleted, restarted, and re-installed repeatedly.

I have tested the game without the mod and it does work.

I have no patch000 file (at least not that I can find).

I have set the proto file to read-only (it was already set that way but I de-selected and then re-selected it just to be sure).

I am starting a completely new game, not loading a saved one.

I have (I think) followed the installation instructions in the Megamod2 readme file.

My computer is running Windows XP.
I don't know if it's relevant but I did notice that while the maps folder contains an ARTEMPLE.map file their is no ARTEMPLE.cfg file while the other .map files have corresponding .cfg files of the same name.

Have I missed something?

The .cfg files don't matter. I know you haven't done everything mentioned on the board at one point or another, or else it would be working. ;) But here is a rather obscure thing that I want you to try: Uninstall your game. Then restart your computer. Then reinstall the game to a fresh location where you have never had Fallout 2 before (try another partition if you can).

The size of the ARTEMPLE.Map is 90.8Kb what is yours and put the entirely, PROTO folder to read only (right click to Proto folder/Proprierties/and change only to read only) It's easy that way to defend thoes fragile Proto files and to don't let the game corrupt this file.
And try to install the game in Programs File/Fallout 2 not to Programs File/Black Isle/Fallout2 after one restart of the PC.
Hope it's helps.

Oh, I almost forget MIB88 there is no Proto file with Kaga2 in Crititers folder...
Regards.

ARTEMPLE.map size is 90.8k.

Uninstalled, purged registry, restarted computer, reinstalled to new folder, added mod, still no go.

Only change is that after the first time I tried purging the registry it froze completely, with a blank screen, when I entered the Temple after giving me the standard pipboy message about hearing things scuttling around. When I tried that re-install sequence again it was back to the original error.

Read what I posted a little earlier. I said this is corrected, meaning it is in the NEXT release.

And LonelyLurker, I don't have any more ideas for you, sorry. Those suggestions mentioned in the readme (and about installing to a new location after restarting the computer) is what usually causes people to have problems. And it isn't Windows XP, because that is what my computer uses.

Well, I don't know why but it seems to be working now. I did another purge-reboot-reinstall sequence and it worked this time, I don't know what I did this time that I hadn't done before but...

I know you posted earlier, I want to be sure you don't forget. I will replace that file with Kaga 1 to see what's hapening. Maybe it will work...

Lonelylurker I'm glad it's working now.

Happy Hollydays to all the Fallout fans in the world !

Also having problems with blank ToT.....

I have win Xp, I have tried uninstallation from drives, I have reinstalled into a different sector of D Drive. I am having same problem. My autoplay does not show the install button as active so am thinking it may be a problem with registry key. So Any help on how to purge system of the Fallout2 registry key is much appreciated as I have no idea what else to do.

Edit: I found a registry cleaner that has cleaned the registry key off of system. However a restart and reinstallation has proven to be ineffective in resolving my issue with the temple. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea what version am using other than it is a silver reflective disk with black trim fallout 2 on in and it installs as version 1.02.

In WinXP the install from the console of the game it's not working, so this is not the problem you encounter.
But if the game you have it's v.1.02 I don't know how can I help you. Be sure in the game folder it's not a file with the name patch 0000.dat if you haved delleted at once.
And I'm pretty sure you don't install the Mod corectly, try again like Lonelylurker did.
