Thief mod is progressing as quickly as possible!

:)
I know. That was in no way meant as a jab at you. I know others would freak out by me saying this, but I mean it: take your time. I have enough to keep me busy, too.

I installed the mod few days ago and its really great. Haven't touched a single mod for 2 years. Really a nice surprise.

I also installed B-Team mod and some of my save games got broken. Can't tell if B-Team is the reason but i happened after I equiped Sulik, that new npc you get in Arroyo (can't remember a name, sorry) and myself with armors. Is there any chance that this mod will become part of Megamod ??? Cuz its really cool :)

Also 1 more request/plea: Can u please put backpacks and other bags somewhere in arroyo ??? Its the most missed thing from F1. I used to use level editor to put some bags for me at the beggining but after this mod is installed editor can't load any of the maps. Any solution ??? What version r u using ???

Thank you

This is your only 'do-over' as far as I'm concerned. I don't want to see any more stupid questions like that. Here's a hint: Read the readme files! They are they for a reason. Also note that you just messed up your game.

You say you used the level editor. I don't know this program, unless you mean the official mapper. If you use the official mapper, then you have to edit the maps BEFORE you enter that map for the first time, or the changes won't appear (same for Dim's mapper). If you are using some other program, then I don't know how it works or how to correct this issue. As for me adding them in, there is one in the game added, but you can't get to it due to an error I made, but that will be corrected in the next release. If I can see a real reason to add it, then I would consider adding some.

Xerxes: Any relation to a stupid AI onboard a FTL ship? :P

Anyways, I'm curious as to why you want all those backpacks. Any chance you could fill me in?

I just installed 2.0 but I'm stuck on something. I CAN'T FIND FLINT ANYWHERE. Mynoc says he left it somewhere but I searched the entire village and can't find it! Normally I wouldn't care but I need it for that quest in the Primitive Tribe.

Didn't notice anything about B-Team mod being in the official readme file. At least not in this version. Anyway I checked it right after I posted the question. Its included in the patch as far as I can see. Didn't see all the readme files. Sorry about that. So do I need to completely reinstall the game for it to work properly? Saving and loading works ok until I exit the game. After that I can not load positions in which the armours r equipped.

I like backpacks because I like to sort my equipement but it seems that no 1 else needs them so nvm.

And yes I was talking about the official mapper. I used it earlier to make some maps for LICH but never got around to finish them due to RL issues. And when I try to start it I get: wmAreaInit:: Error loading Cities!

And then it gets back to windows. If u know whats the problem I would be very grateful if u could tell me.

If you were using the B-Team mod in its dat format, then just delete the .dat file.
If you you replaced a bunch of files, then you need to replace all the files that are in the B-Team mod with those from the Megamod. Either replace those individual files that were changed if you can figure it out or just copy all of the Megamod files into your Fallout directory again. You don't have to reinstall.

The game .exe included in the megamod is a patched version of the game, allowing you to have more than 48 cities. You need to patch the mapper too. You can get it from this site (city limit patch). Then you can modify the maps in the Megamod.

@lolerhol: You may have looked everywhere, but I know you didn't talk to everyone after learning of the flint.

Yup I just copied megamod files over and everything works ok...for now...old save games don't however but didn't expect them to anyway.

Thanx for the mapper patch. I'll try it out.

The flint quest is nice. I spent whole hour looking around the maps for it. I mean who goes around asking people about the flint :)

Morning update:

Mapper working fine. Thanx.

It turns out that there was no conflict between 2 mods. Saves become corupted after pc restarts. So I tried various combinations with armours and locations. After the visit to SCRAPTOWN games become corupted! Don't know why.

Xerxes if you read a bit earlyer on this topic you will find the answer to all your question !!!

Hello MIB88

This is hard work.... With the master.dat I don't have problem but with critters.dat...
I will try with patch.dat to see what's happening.
It is harder because I don't have a good dat/undat soft, and I need to use two programs for that, and are so many files in there... And all of them are Gzip !!!!! F**K My winrar barrely unzip them (with CRC errors) but it is not something important.
The funny thing is after I made the master.dat (all the files inside are unziped) the game is blazing fast, and more importantly some of the crashing was reduced. It's a bit more docile now.
And I will try to make some Weapon Grafics for you. I'm good on that, believe me... but I don't have the right soft for that... yet.
Regards.

BTW I only have acces to NET in weekend so sorry for the late reply...

No, there were are conflicts in combining these two mods separately. I included Jargo's B-Team mod and included a number of other changes to NPC scripts, including fixes from Killap, new global variables, game endings, and the Cult of Personality addition. If you had kept the NPC scripts from the B-Team mod, you would be missing out on a lot and might have had some unexpected errors.

@IAR80: No problem. I look forward to seeing the graphics you create. And I appreciate you testing this out. I know it is a pain to create dat files. That is one of the reasons why I don't do it! But you know, there was something I read in a thread here a long time ago about making a patch000.dat file. It involved creating a folder with that name, then adding things in. I can't remember exactly. But it might be worth a search through the forums to find it. Especially if it is a method that works.

For everyone else, just wanted to let you know that I took some work from another group (I wish I could remember who, because they didn't include a readme file)...but it is the Fallout Forever mod. I have not included their work with the cities, as I still need to contact them and make sure they don't mind after it is translated. But their expanded worldmap is now included, making it possible to add more cities without the place seeming cluttered.

That great news! Your mod is getting better and better.
You came a long wat there MIB88
Keep up the good work.

Alright, I finally got the flint but now I have another problem. After sharpening 2 spears, Mynoc says he's too busy and I get the option to learn how to sharpen spears. I choose to do so but I don't have any idea how to sharpen them. No new options, perks or anything appear. Has it been implemented yet or am I missing something?

Also, Hakunin asks me to find ingredients of evil and death so he can improve my weapon or something. I know one is probably the Devil Weed I found but I can't figure out what the other ingredient is.

'Look' at yourself. That is how Mr. Fixit from TeamX works.

Not gonna help you with the second part...not usually my thing. The first part I consider a technical issue, but not this question. You'll have to get somebody else to answer that for you or, better still, figure that out yourself.

Didn't have time to read all 39 pages on this topic but I recall reading something about it. I'm a little short on time because of college so please don't mind my sometimes useless feedback :)

You know, it's not that hard just push the profile buton on MIB88 and then select all MIB88 post...

Usually MIB88 reply a bit harder, but sorry if I upset you, believe me I don't wanna do that.
Like everybody on this world we are all short in time, especially MIB88 but sometimes we need to have a little bit more patience. You are right I over reacted, sorry again.
Regards...

@IAR80

I use a program called Dat explorer (found on this site) that can add multiple files in one go. The only time I tried putting the megamod into dat format it took me less than five minutes to do the whole lot!

I hope this helps. Getting the megamod into dat format would certainly help installation.

Tanx Chris.
I need to reinstall everything now, because a master.dat have 330Megs, and the patch 0000.dat it will become smalliest so I will try this one out.

Edit: Finally... I made the critter.dat and it's works. I run into an encounters with Gila and Roach and both works great, but you need to put some "hides" on gila corpse ?!!! ;-)

Hey its ok. :) No problem. I'll try to read as much as possible before asking here.

Is there any plan to implement new locations into this mod maybe? I'm not bad with mapper but my scripting is bad (almost zero to be honest :) ). I thought I could maybe do some locations to save you guys some time and the u can modify them and script as you see fit. As I mentioned earlier I started doing 2 maps for Lich but I never got to finish them because of real life problems. I should have time now. So tell me what you think.

Are you serious!? I use that program for taking dat files apart, but I thought I read about that program if you used it to make dat files, you had to add them one at a time or else it would get corrupted. Obviously I was mistaken and was thinking of another program.

@Xerxes: I like the Radna map. Shows that total chaos and disarray that survivors would be trying to eek out their living, scavenging for supplies. I'd probably take a out a few things (like the footprint), but obviously you know how to use the program. I will tell you that there are some people who generally like underground locations such as bunkers, BOS bases, and Vaults. Maybe you could practice your skills there, and I am certain there are some modders here who could use maps like that (especially the BOS bunkers). And now that I've got the expanded worldmap worked into the mod, that space will need to be taken up with something...

@IAR80: Glad to hear that worked. And you're right - the Gila monster does need a hide.
