MIB88 MegaMod - opinions, technical issues, etc.

Hey all just wondering if someone could help me with this problem:

How do I get the poison from the rat caves underneath klamath? I've spoken to Slim Picket and he said something about a basement behind some rocks in a garage but I cant find the entrance. Do I need to blow the rocks up with some explosive? Also is this the same entrance where I can get to the broken down highwayman for the car part?

Also does anyone know what the valve from the rusty still and the spring from the workmens bench found underground via the rotten ladder is for?

You will find a few sticks of dinamite at Vic's Shack.Then go to the Trapper's town to a garage that has lot's of rocks inside, use the explosive on those rocks and you got yourself an entrance, you will find the car piece later on.
How did you came down the rotten ladder, did you use a rope or something, I didn't know that was possible ?
Regarding the mod itself, I am having problems in the farmer quest in klamath.I found the kid that was stealing the crops, he seems to belong to a man that won him on a poker game. After I confront the man and start fighting after my turn and after his turn the game freezes :(

Yea I got a rope from the buckner hotel, I dunno which buckner I got it off though I think I got it off Maida.

That never happened to me. I just killed the bastard guy.
 
Regarding the rotten ladder, theres some goodies there along with some rats, just slaughter the rats and completely loot the place, use the still so you get the valve from it, I dont remember how I did it either repair skill or just use it, I think I performed an examine first by dragging down to binoculars, just experiment ;). Also you get a spring from the workmens tool bench. I cant remember if theres anything else, neways these things u can sell to whiskey bob if you have a good/high repair skill. I went and fitted it on his still for him n got 150 bucks I think.
 
Hey MIB88! Apart from update 2 you thinking of making any new updates to this mod or is it now final? Is the horrigan mod included or is it under construction?

I just lost my damn car when I got to the guardian portal encounter :| I figure from previous posts theres no way in hell in getting it back. Even though I would have thought that the map would have the car script since its part of the unmodded game.

I've enjoyed playing with this mod so far.

No, I am still working on this. There will be many updates to come. Update 3 has Mr. Fixit from TeamX, Friendly Klint, Horrigan Armor mod (but it won't just be lying around), some of Killap's bug fixes, and some more improvements to the vertibird mod and new locations to drive to, courtesy of Guyver8. I am still playing through portions though. Thr only hangup at the moment is Horrigan's armor. I had wanted to release this new version now, but it seems as though it will be another week. Just hang in there! :)
 
Cool! Sounds great, the new update means it will corrupt my save game though right? Any way of making a save game converter to convert to the new update? Interplay had an official save game converter for changing from V1 to V1.02d.

You are correct...previous games will not work. There may be a way of making a converter, but that is out of my area. Maybe there is someone else out there who can give it a try...
 
Yep, and may I add this is the cue for anyone out there who can do such a thing to offer their skills...perhaps someone who knows a bit of VB as well as fallout modding if im not mistaken...
 
I am getting alot of encounters with a group of tribesman and woman, one is kaga, when he speaks he just says *error* *error*.
Is he a robot or is it a bug ?

Kaga is your 'rival' (ala pokemon), as you travel around you'll meet him in random encounters. Both he and the people with him will become stronger (skills/armor/weapons) as you level up.
Don't kill him...just hurt him and he runs off to fight another day but kill his his comrades and loot them.

MIB88 has it fixed for the next update (see thread above for release date). It's worth looking out for this as all the fixes and additions will push this mod over the top.

Sorry HarpsS1ngh the drawing of the car is the responsiblity of the map script and some scripts just don't have the code included.

On an unrelated track, don't suppose you know if Jargo has a date for an update to FSE.
 
I blasted everyone in navarro apart from the cook as he's not hostile, jump into the vertibird and realise theres no fuel. Whos the guy i talk to, to get more fuel?

I also noticed when I killed everyone in navarro some guy called kevin comes and joins the battle, yet when i reloaded a previous save before killing anyone he was nowhere to be found.

No. If I was truly worthy, I would have figured out this dang Horrigan Armor problem! :) I absolutely cannot get Horrigan to be lootable. This is the only thing holding back the next release. I took apart the script and see that the original Horrigan critter is being made invisible...but nothing I try seems to work. Does anybody out there know a solution to this? Is it possible to make him lootable using the official mapper (say, under the use or pickup option)? Or does anyone know if there is some value that can be changed using the prototype editor from this site? I suppose, if all else fails, I will just make it so the armor is created next to the body when he is killed, but I don't really like that. Any help would be appreciated.

:idea: now, to say something a bit more relevant, i dabled a bit in programing a few years back so can sympathise with your frastration MIB.
However from what you just said and from what little understanding i have of fallouts inner mechanics, it seems to me that the frank critter simply doesn't have a corpse animation (or the animation is a small grey pixel or something) since the programers probably hadn't originaly planed on him being lootable (hence not bothering to make inventory animations for his weapons as well) :(
on the other hand if the body that we do see is not an actual critter corpse than i assume it's a background animation like a tree or something so maybe you can define it as a container?

also, isn't frank a cyborg (storywise) and hence isn't supposed to have an actual armour ?

:lol: All of that was clear. I had considered what you had said earlier. It is a problem with the death animation. The legs are background animation. But it does appear as though the other thing being created, the torso, is another critter. And whenever I monkey with the script, I get either a crash, the entire upper half of Horrigan disappearing, or no change whatsoever. I settled on just having the armor appear underneath his corpse...for now.

I have uploaded udate 3. This is important: You most likely will not be able to use this update with previous games, because of certain files that were changed. You must start over. Sorry.
