No, dialog with Maria should not automatically set everyone to hostile, unless you threaten her or tell her of your plan to steal a vertibird. Two questions: Do you have any other mods (or another version of the vertibird mod) installed? Also, what were the other things you did at Navarro prior to this happening? (Maybe there is something there setting the wrong global variable.)

As for the karma/Vault 14 issue, I think I got that resolved a while ago, once I discovered the wrong script attached to the entrance map. I'll know for certain once I get there in this playtest.

No other mods, just Fallout UK version with 211 megamod.

prior to talking to Maria I have done:
-talked my way thru the front gate (new recruit way)
-killed the doc and released the deathclaw
-got the vertibird blueprints from quincy?
-fixed K-9
-talked my way into getting the fob from commander
-talked to pretty much everyone at the base except the sarge

and just to add things went down 3 ways (I tried several times)

1. I talk to her and close the dialog and let her walk out and she gets attacked and starts killing the guards (and noone is interested in me :shock: )
2. I talk to her and say "me leave" or something (bad english or stupid english) and nothing happends, she stays where she is and noone attacks.
3. I talk to her about docs special delivery request (for example) and she says I need to take it to the pilot and couple steps later combat starts.
 
Definitely very weird. I'll test these out and let you know what I find in my game. Thanks.
 
Hmm, something must have been very wrong last couple times I started F2....

cause now when I talk to her and don't use the obvious bad lines and finish with "(smiling) Are you related to the sergent" I end up in the area the cook with Rubber Boots, Bio med gel. and Cheesy poofs in my inventory (one each) but noone attacks.... and I can talk to her again when she finishes her round and even then nobody attacks.....

I tried the same lines earlier and the second I "teleported" to the cook I was in attack mode, but hey it works.

edit:

There seems to be slight double exp bug in Tony.
1.say you don't have time for the training now you get 5k exp
2. talk again and get the training
3. take the 3rd line (the one that starts "neighter sleet....")
4. dialog pops back on your face and you can use 3rd line to get the 5k exp again (the long one saying that nobody is looking for him and it's safe now)

Getting sent to the cook is supposed to happen. It is a reference to being sent to KP duty (now called mess duty) when you have made your chain of command angry, and you must either help cook or clean. I need to change something, though. Having the boots and cheezy poofs added to your inventory makes sense, but not the biomed gel. I will remove that at some point.

Thanks. Another bug to add to the list.
 
Try to read last page. jeezzz

1: Clean install FO2 (uninstall, delete fallout dir, install)
2: Extract the megamod & the megamod update to two separate folders.
3: Move all the folders from the megamod update into the data folder of the megamod.
4: Move the fallout2.exe from the update to the megamod folder
5: go into the sound\music folder of the megamod and delete all the music files (*.acm) except 25sewer.acm (all the others are already in FO2)
6: In the megamod proto folder set all the files to read-only.
7: The megamod folder should contain fallout2.exe and a data folder.
8: In the fallout2 folder, delete or rename the patch000.dat file (if it exists).
9: Final part, To install just copy the fallout2.exe and the data folder to where you installed the game. (if you don't get asked about overwriting the exe and the data folder then you've done something wrong)

NB: if you keep the megamod folder as is, it makes for an easy re-install.

try it, you'll like it
 
my bad...a mixture of 85 pages and a 2.1.1 update

got it working once i dopple stacked the updates.





started another game and it saves...cheers though.

having to kick rats and scorpions to death wasnt fun,but that slab of rock is pure genius,hope the rest is just as diverse.
 
I don't' know if it's been already report/talk before but:

It's normal than I cannot use a combat shotgun... (I have 115% in small gun)
I find on in an encounter, use it some time change weapon and them try to used at the Den to kill all the slaver but cannot shoot/aimed or reload it (can reload in inventory) !? :(
I check if it's broken or jammed but I can find anything. :shrug:

Now I've Cassidy with me and HE can use it!! :cry:
 
There is nothing wrong with the gun. Your skill level doesn't matter. How do you not know that weapons have strength requirements or sometimes require 2 (good) hands to use?

OH!! Have to "put" the shotgun in one slot and other free! Have 10 ST so...
New add-on to add in my mind so :lol:

im sorry, i'm lazy to read through 83 pages to find info. My question is this, in modoc when i get caught by mirias father, i get a black screen and nothing happens, any ideas what i should do? I have the latest version of the megamod.
 
Awesome mod.

I do however have an opinion about the extra upgrade parts. More so how much they cost. I love needing to buy the extra parts, but prices are way too high. For example it costs about 800 for a complete timed dynamite bomb, but each of the dynamite sticks is worth 800(or so). Don't know what your reason is for doing it that way but from my point of view its a painful waste of money, making an fantastic part of the mod into a nightmare.

Yeah, prices for such things remain unchanged since I originally added the New Vision 1.2 mod. I was thinking that they are indeed too expensive in my latest playthrough (only my third in 2 1/2 years of putting together this mod). I'll get around to changing those values eventually.
 
So, another new game and some bugs with fresh install once-more downloaded pack from the NMA download section.

Still, at random encounters, when aiming a radscorpion, game crashes sometime.

When you save/load game at Cold Heart's tunels, save description of this area is 'Arroyo Error'.

In NCR had Merk's quest loop. Firstly, I've menaged to obey his proving quest (killing that priest inside NCR), and then I gave him RoboDog papers. Quest was finished and crossed out, but still I can talk the same with Merk (getting quest again).

I drive to the Military Base, kicked all the mutant's ass, and then I went to SF. Before that, my car ran out of fuel and I stopped at MB city radius. When I entered area to refuel, suddenly I get at SF! So, shocked, I refueled car and started car's engine once more. And I was still in MB! Is this was a dream or sth? :)

Also, opening the doors at Salvatore's Bar (2nd floor) causes my game to crash.

1. Can't do anything about random crashes.
2. Addressed.
3. I will look at this. This isn't due to something from the mod, and must be something that has always been there.
4. Obviously something else random. I've never heard of anything like that! :shock:
5. First, there is only one door at this location. Second, I can't reproduce this. If you try to open the door under normal circumstances, Mason stops you. Did you kill him and then get this crash?
 
I had a bit of a sour fallout moment, one of those that turns me off for years. I crashed after a 3 hour bender finding all sorts of goodies in the desert. The crash was during a caravan vs some raiders.

What are the possibilities behind a random crash during this? Perhaps on your setup, as the control subject (for this research enquiry ;).
 
Oh, don't get me wrong: I still get random crashes... and some not so random. :wink: ) However, I don't think I have gotten more crashes necessarily from when I first played the undmodded game. Or maybe I am just remembering things wrong. I do remember the game crashing on some caravan encounters, right after one of the raiders shot one of their pistols. I think these random issues will always be around.
