[MOD] Item descriptions

This is looking really good. Text is nice and clear.
Would you mind if I used this in my mod ?

FYI It overlaps some of the default stats (condition, etc) when you're in the shop menus. I've seen mods to increase the size of dialogue boxes, can these be altered?

I made it for the Interface enlargement mod. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do for normal sizes, lest the text becomes unreadable. :(

Finished modding in armor descriptions.

Tell me what you think:

http://www.filedropper.com/apparel

Installation is as follows:

Extract it to <Fallout>\Data\Textures\Interface\icons\pipboyimages

Hi mate... great stuff, thanks

However, I can't make it work from some reason... Is putting it in this folder really enough? Double checked spelling etc but no result in the game.

don't know if you did this already, but you need to put the apparel folder under pipboyimages, not the .dds files :)

really great work by the way! fallout really meeds more of this. the more i play, the more it's starting to feel like some fps with xp.

i mean, i've got no relation to damage output, effective range, ap cost, skills, perks etc. it just feels like some weapons kills things faster than others because of something...and armour? hell, i'm sure i wouldn't notice any difference from strolling around in my underwear or stomping around in power armour :(

thumbs up to all the modders though, for all their effort in adding some much needed depth!

No problemo, want the .psd I use to make descriptions?

Yes please mate, that would be great.

Just had a quick look at the weapons. Nice work.

Can't get this to work. When I check Data Files from the launcher the "Load Loose File" is not checked but if I check it nothing happens and when I open Data Files again it's unchecked again -.-'

EDIT: Put the files in "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\Textures\Interface\icons\pipboyimages" under separate folders for "apparel" and "weapons", is this right?

Simple. Copy the Data folder to the specified path.

Then, go to My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3\Fallout.ini, find the line that says
"bInvalidateOlderFiles" and change the 0 to 1

Then create "ArchiveInvalidation.txt" in your Fo3 directory and add this line to it:

Textures\Interface\icons\pipboyimages\apparel\appearal_combat_armor.dds

Oddly, this single line makes all my interface modifications work for me, tell me if they do for you.

Ah thank, that made it work. oh and same for me, that single line makes everything work. Perhaps the game only checks for the existence of ArchiveInvalidation.txt and then loads everything?

EDIT: just tried starting the game with a empty ArchiveInvalidation.txt and it worked as well, so I guess my theory was right? :P

would It be possible for you to release a version with the weapons where they have the original vaultboy pictures instead of the FO1-2 pictures?

Bravo!

One of the first essential mods to make Fallout 3 a decent followup are beeing made here.
