More Fallout Then Fallout (MOD)

It turns out that it's a problem with the game itself rather then the mod. I'll be looking in to it till I can get it working.
 
I did it! FINALLY! It works both in GECK and ingame. It took like 20 minutes to lunch the game on my old PC but it worked 10 FPS yet I've seen the new texture after I changed the path in nif "after" re-naming the texture files. From "t-51b powerarmor" to "gt-51b powerarmor".

You see the game was still clinging to it's .bsa files. That's why I had to change the name and all.

Actually it's the Van Buren type with some of it's FO2 looks (well more or less, re-making the Van Buren mode would take a long long time). That's why you see the black parts.

I was thinking that I should follow the original classics re-make more which we would have seen in Van Buren and just leave the FO1/2 version behind completely as a tribute to a great game we have never been able to play except for the alpha. It's the least that can be done I think.

Made a new texture for the T-51b. I loaded up the game again switched the model and texture with the Vault 21 suit and it looked better then the last one. I did that because my game does not work too well so it's best for me to stay in the Doc's house. You on the other hand will see everything normally.

In case your wondering how to apply it just add the files from the rared folder in to:

Fallout New Vegas\Data\Textures\Armor\t-51bpowerarmor

(the old ones won't be needed)

I also kept the old textures on my drive so it won't be hard to replace them.
 
It looks good, personally i like the green accents more.

*EDIT* I just walked outside and the new textures look verry good in daylight ! I think i will keep the new one.



 
I see you removed the straps, but why? They have been taken directly out of the original render images:

Ok, they are not visible on every render image, but at least these two above show them. So in this regard, the Fallout 3 armor version is pretty much a plain copy. I'll guess this neck thingy is somehow part of the power helmet and therefore always visible when the helmet is worn, maybe to close possible leaks in the armor to helmet connection.
 
Hmmm what would you say if I made 2 versions?

1) More grin more military like.

2) The BOS pure white and silvery.

I was actually trying to re-create the Van Buren version. Make the armor look more advanced. Without any leather straps.

Some FO2/1 images have them some don't some like the one Rombus has where more like a metal collar.

All the peaces didn't fit well together. And the Van Buren Armor was just right. That silvery look with a few black parts.

Would anyone actually use leather straps on a new almost prototype Power Armor? The previous model had none. I'd actually dare to say that Bethesda's T-45d looked more advanced ingame and was in a better shape then the T-51b. It was even rust free. Although the T-45d was made of metal instead of composites "it is significantly less advanced than its later counterpart, and uses riveted steel plates instead of plastic composite materials in its construction".

That's why I wanted to give it a Van Buren feel instead of the FO1/2 one.
 
Downloaded the files, loved the new look...
But I couldn't resist, so I did a few tweaks on the texture and scaled down the helmet.

I've only uploaded the edited files, so they won't work without Ravager's files.

Remember, these are very minor tweaks and you probably won't need them or even notice them. If Ravager feels like using something from these tweaks in future releases, I'm totally ok with it. It's his project after all.

The changes:
- Fixed the horizontal lines on the neck cover.
- Cleaned parts of the texture from grime and dirt.
- Reduced the size of the helmet a bit. I've never been a fan of the huge helmets.
- Small red arrow near the mouth and brighter light on the forehead.

I'm too tired to do anything at the moment. I've been getting very little sleep because of the constant work. I'll be back tomorrow with a few new things. I'll see what I can do to make everyone happy.
 
It's update time! Tons of retexturing done. T-51b has got a bit of a change both the standard one and BOS (currently using the silvery one, more Van Buren like for both while I'm sill trying to figure how to make them 100% separate). New textures for Boon's armors, all NCR troopers, and a much less devastated Ranger Combat Armor without the torn to peaces shoulder you've seen all the frigging time. The Rangers look more like the one on the loading screen.

The NCR looks more like an army then ever before.

Changes to leather armors have also been done and I'm working on a fully brand new model & texture that will resemble the original FO1/2 Leather Jacket a lot more.

I'm also planning on a few things and I need to know what you guys think:

- Pain it black! More black armors to give the player more of that FO1/2 feel. Some with blue pants.

- More weapons re-textures like pistols, orange alien blaster.

- Balancing - the evolution of the BOS, NCR and other factions. More powerful T-51b's that put them on the same level as the Enclave Armors with only a few differences. Some armors will lower sneak like Power Armors others will add to it. More modifiers like ST, CHA, Luck on certain peaces of gear. For example let's say you have a BOS T-51b with +3 STR, +1CHA, -50% Sneak then a Ranger Combat Armor would have +2 PE, +2 Luck and per say +15% sneak, but lower DT.
 
I still say the butt should be a bit bigger/fatter or something, but you're doing an awesome work so keep it up! :ok:
