Morrowind thread!

I'm pretty sure that Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim use the same theme just different style and instruments. Like a remix of the same song three different times. Also I think Skyrim reused some of the ambient music from Morrowind, it sounds strangely familiar but then again they reused all the Daggerfall and Morrowind books so there's that.

Morrowind's theme song was great, though Skyrim basically just copied it.

Finished Enderal: The Shards of Order

1600x900, mind you

This mod is great, better than the vanilla Skyrim in terms of realism, writing, voice acting, area, level design (absent in Skyrim) and creativity to quests. There were some moments in this game that really took my breath away, more than any games I've played. However, Good Ol' Gamebryo/Creation engine, makes things like cutscenes, scenery and basically moving objects like some vehicle and elevators go bananas and look bad.
It is a bit too linear and not that much of an RPG, although i didn't invest in the Rethorics skill (Speech) so maybe i lost a lot of chances.

It shares with Skyrim some good and bad points; the amazing exploration of a hand-crafted world BUT the meh combat. Enderal does overhaul it a lot, it's up to you if it's duct tape in a gaping wound or a band-aid.
In does overhaul a lot of Skyrim, enough to be called a game on its own.

Hand-Crafted is really what defines this mod, that's where i got a bit of a New Vegas feel. Their devs cared for their cration and made the best job they could.

And fun fact, Books are actually worth reading this time if you know the side Lore of the universe.

Overall 9/10

Since Morrowind they used a variation of the same theme, I think.
Gotta say, I love the Daggerfall music as well. I still wistle the "Snowing" music whenever it's, well, snowing.

Yeah Daggerfell music is fantastic. But I dislike the actual game itself, too broad and for people who hate Skyrim's repeated design... Daggerfell is a million times worse. Now if they kept it in Illiac Bay and made the game look and feel more unique... I'm up for that.

Sounds like a good premise for a Skyrim total conversion mod. Which doesn't use map markers at all. And implements missing skills from the previous Elder Scrolls games. And loses the voiced dialogue.

Wait.

Make it a Morrowind mod and I"m up for that shit.

Skywind?
Or you mean use Morrowind to mod in Illiac Bay?

Also, I'm pretty sure it's possible to lose the whole topic based dialogue system in Morrowind. I've been messing about with the TES editor back in the day, and making some actual dialogue with choices and consequences isn't all that difficult.

Banks and ships have already been modded into the game ages ago, so that shouldn't be a problem either. I feel like this project could be done at some point. Sadly, about 99% of the modding community moved onto Skyrim. :(

EDIT: also, I've never played Daggerfall. Am I a pleb now?

You actually can. It's really easy, and there are examples of it in-game anyway. So it's doable and there's no need for hardwiring. Heck, you can make totally unique dialogue for each person, easy. The fact that it's text means you don't need voice actors.

Yeah, this would make people want to play Daggerfall.

You're not missing anything. Too much randomly generated areas, boring dungeons and too many fetch it quests.

Yeah I've heard that one. Really love the Elder Scrolls series... well until Morrowind. After that...
Yeah, it's sad to keep losing originality and the identity of our beloved franchises just for sheer franchise milking.

I mean, who am I kidding...

Arena was generic as fuck. Daggerfall was a boring mess.

Morrowind is the only Elder Scrolls game I liked.
*Pats in consolation*
You know the fact that "Elder Scrolls" was just a cool subtitle for Arena, right?
