Mr.Black Dude (A new playable critter for Fallout 2)

You should keep the original black hero model.
And, adding long hair style plus bald style.

SO:

2 Races (Black n' White)
2 styles per Race (Longhair and blad, plus normal for white)

Here are the combat armour and the vault suit for the black dude (the latter is still WIP), made by brother_soifran and me.

We were using the same technique from my new critters tutorials videos (black brush with 50% opacity on the skin and hair areas - but be sure to use the hard one, not the airbrush). Hope this helps!
 
Thanks lisac2k - I'll go through the critters and see what we can use.

Just a little update - I'm currently adjusting some some of the Tribal critters animations, so the initial tribal you play, in the Temple, will have all of the animations used by the Neutral Tribal critter (Sulik) - hammer, knife, SMG, fists, and spear. This is to give the initial Temple critter the flexibility to use the knife and club in that quest...it's a small enhancement, but a nice one IMO. Ultimately the tribal critter should have the full range of weapons - rifle, pistol, big gun, and rocket launcher, but the thats a another thread. What's the difference between the two tribals - it's all in the heads.


All of these tribals will soon be apart of the Mr.Black Dude thread.
 
Sorry, but i'm gonna have to bail on the project for now. My computer is pretty much fucked. However after Christmas I will contribute as much as possible.
 
No problems - I was just getting the files ready, there's no rush PastaMasta. To make life easier I will prepare all of the files for the team, basically go through every animation in question and put them in the correct folders - with their proper names, etc. Included will be all of the image files - these are the saved 'project' files from the Frame Animator, it should save each artist about 30% of the time required to make and organize a new critter from scratch. When it's ready I will put up a link for the team members.

Each armor type will comprise of about 170 animation and 6400+ frames.

Just tell me when to start helping, pass me your actions, and we can start building Mr. Black Guy :mrgreen:
 
I'll finish Vault suit first, first of all I dont need to finish all 170 animations, because there is about 85 animation already finished...after that I'll call you guys. :wink:

I think Pixote is trying to finish this in time for the Christmas RP release. No pressure guys! ;) :D In all seriousness though, I love the work everyone has done with the new animations. Thumbs up! :ok:
 
I'd like to help but I don't realy know how to use photoshop and I'm not realy sure if I'll be relieable as well.
 
Trust me, Photoshop is really easy to use... especially with Pixote's actions. Basically:

1) Put Pixote's action scripts into actions folder
2) Open Photoshop
3) Open critter bitmap you are coloring black
4) Lasso skin areas on Blackie
5) Actions Dialogue Box --> Mr. Black Actions --> Part 1
6) Actions Dialogue Box --> Mr. Black Actions --> Part 2
7) Done

Once Pixote is in need of assistance, I will post screenies with a detailed walkthrough. :wink:
 
Don't worry Ghouly, after I finish the extended Tribal critter, I'll start work on Mr. Black.

How would I do that and where can I find his action scripts I just had a look at OP couldn't find a link or such stuff :? . Do you mean create them yourself.
 
Revival of the thread YEY!
The plan is this:

What have been started is the metal armor guy since he was missing the running animation. As you can see he is pretty much the same looking therefore he will take less time to get all the missing anims. So far these frms are done:
HMBMETGB, HMBMETEB, HMBMETEA, HMBMETAT.
The later is posted at the new anim thread too as a run fix.
Spear and club walk and club idle animation the other ones.
I feel I found the setting for the skin tone and it would look good on all of the chars.
 
Slowly but surely there will be some new one around :)
Here are some good news progress is fast on the metal guy
IB, II, IJ, ED and EC anims have appeared.

Imageshack refsuses to let me have animated gifs therefore you will see the first frame now only.... gonna have to look up a freeway to host them
