Mutants Rising returns!

Yes! When you saw this thread, you thought we were gone forever, didn't you? However, The Vault Dweller in fact predicted the future!

"I hope they saved all the data they made...who knows maybe if we host it here some nutcase/genius with lots of free time (maybe a high-school PC prodigy out of school for the summer) could pick it up and finish it?"

Well, as of a couple of weeks ago, Chris Parks, famed of The Modoc and Cold Hearts mod and many more, has joined our forum and has already made a start at putting things in order. We still have the bulk of our previous work, and with Chris's scripting ability, plus a new drive to do work, now that finishing the mod actually looks possible, things are already on the up once more. Another new addition to the team is MIB88 of the well known and loved MegaMod., With this sudden new intake, the demo is looking more and more likely - watch this space!

We are, of course, always in need of fresh talent. Particularly, at this moment in time, mappers. Any application hopefuls, head over to our forum.

Thanks Mikey.

Oh thank God!

I got a PM from Mikey saying the same thing and then I read this here. I checked the link to the Mutants Rebellion forum and I see no new news. I can only guess that this is just an example of Mikey and his queer brand of British humo(u)r.

I was so worried for a moment. I honestly thought that just maybe I was indeed prophetic in which case I was on the edge of sowing my mouth shut/killing myself before saying something I would regret and having it come true.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Dammit, where's my "Thanks Mikey!" (in bold) at the bottom of the post? I've waited so long for them to let me post this announcement! =(

Well, I would have posted there in the News section, but I have no modship powars. =/

We have limited ability to update things like the website since only Trolle has access to these places, and he's kind of unreachable

The mod is seriously back in production, but only a few of the old members remain.

I'll update the public forum if I can. It may be easier to reach any of us that remain here, or by PM'ing or emailing us from the public forum.

Good that Mutant Rising is back... fall of this ambitious project was a bit depressing. Keep up good work and kill all traitors.

This is good news!
Congrats, MIB88!
To install these mods and be able to play them, do you need F1 or F2 installed?

I'm kinda amazed this guy is still around. Meh, guess it’s the new *tolerance* trend I've heard so much about.

Unfortunatedly, we can't ban people for being complete and utter morons. We have to wait until they break forum rules.

On the off chance you're not trolling I'll answer the question:

Yes to play a mod of the game you need to have the game installed. In the case of MR you will need to have FO2 installed.

Interesting rising from the dead... Who are the last MR survivors? It looks strange that you´re looking for a mappers, the-easiest-modding-job-ever. :)

Those who remain:

Wild_qwerty, Dack, Mikey and me (SNorth). There is one other that I'm not sure of. Chris's level of committment is shaming me. I'm guilty of spreading myself too thin at the moment, but I plan to resume writing dialogues. I would like to send a thank-you to the Fan Made Fallout Team for giving me a few pointers on how to improve my 'technical' skills in dialogue writing (Hoists a beer to Pjnt and Agrajag in particular).

The two new members so far are Chris Parks and MIB88.

Jesterka: It is strange to be looking for mappers, but all of our former mappers are busy, whether in school or working.

6 - 7 Fallout-nutcases in all the world, that is fairly sad... In the Czech Republic can coexist two more or less living modding groups and "Anglo-American" MR have so big problems? The management of MR must be very shitty... or totally absent. :)

Contrariwise, I understand frustration of most of MR people, often fighting with those chronic problems that was written there in the past.

Concerning mappers, It is often a very ungrateful, tedious, boring job. To one´s cost I can say that you need one or two 18+ old reliable people, who really loves mapping all-inclusive.

...

Good luck anyway. I think that this Chris´s and MIB´s "globalization" is a good step. One real game with specific face and atmosphere is better than 100 small mods.
