You probably already saw this elsewhere, but in case you didn't: a girl made a pretty neat Fallout 3-based Monopoly game for her boyfriend. See the details here or see more on her Deviant Art.

Speaking of Fallout-based things, it seems an entrepreneurial European has decided to bottle and sell Nuka Cola (thanks Fallout Now). It's an attractive-looking website and a funny concept. If you want to order (I didn't, the shipping costs are way out there), you better hurry because Bethesda is going to cease and desist that company as soon as they see this post.

Fan Brand Infiltration

Fan Brand Infiltration

See here variations on the theme.

Riffling on B-Soft's Intellectual Property in differing media;

the graphic art of a board game,

the marketing art of a sales presentation.

Both designers are taking FO conceptions and making it their own, as many have done in less elaborate expressions of fan fiction.

Trust that fair usage and free speech, and NON commercial exploitation keep these confections in the public eye as brand buzz for B-Soft.

Unique wonder, fan feed back that ENHANCES and celebrates the franchise. FO Value increases.

Would be useful for B-Soft to co-opt creative examples of the pow-ah of the FO IP.

Wonders of intellectual property concept..such a nice idea and they will probably have to take it down immediately.

Agreed. That Nuka Cola website has a really nice vibe. Any way to archive that Flash file for historic purposes for when it gets taken down, guys?

Still, IP law being what it is, Bethesda has to do something here. And they always seem a little uncomfortable about merchandising, even though things like Nuka Cola or Fallout Monopoly would make bank.

Can Beth be so heartless to close down that loveable Nuka Cola site?
Wow, that was a stupid question.

Heh, call it Nuka Pepsi and problem solved.

Everyone will get it. Though not all will like it, that's for sure.

Sad thing is, if Beth. press charges at the court, little guys don't stand the chance, regardless how they change things...

Plus I remember that "Scrolls" claims and attitude in that lawyer's letter... Any news about it?

Nice design btw.

A name is one thing, but we're also talking about a brand. The way the site and softdrink are designed make them instantly recognizable, whether they're calling Nuka Cola or Atomic Pepsi.

Too bad they don't sell Yellow Nuka-Cola, I'd buy that in a heart beat. :(

Yeah, well good luck finding Roshambo.

Free range Nuka-Cola

Damn, they've made it hard to obtain the collectables for non-dutchies, you would need 5 cases of 24 bottles with shipping at astronomical rates.

I will be interested to see the future of this product, as a company in Australia made duff beer many years ago, & court action by Fox forced a cessation of production & the destruction of all stock in stores.

There was even some poor bastards in a brewery in New Zealand who were named Duff for years before the simpsons even existed, & apparently due to not having the funds to battle a giant like Fox when pressure was applied to them, they chose to change their name to McDuff.

Sounds vaguely familiar to a certain legal battle Bethesda corporate is waging with a company who who existed way before bethesda ever made fallout games to try & stop them from making their own similar fallout product simultaneously.

Besthesda had their chance to produce Nuka Cola, they had considered shipping it with fallout 3 but ultimately decided not to for whatever reason, so good luck to these guys.

Just ordered 2 six packs. At least shipping is cheap(ish) to Australia!

Gonna freak my fallout friends out.

Here, have a nuka cola!

I don't know how healthy it would be to drink soda that has been traveling across the continent and spent 4 hours in the Aduana.

Damn, these look pretty awesome, haha. The quantums have niacin in them.

Sodas are shipped all the time. As long as it's capped/sealed properly, it's fine.

Though I don't know how customs responds to shipping of bottles of liquid tagged "nuclear"

This is just way too obvious :>
