NCR-Brotherhood War - possible outcomes.

When/if that country, at a later stage, begins to restrict you, that's when frictions arise - and when it might be too late to act more like a military government, and not just tech-enthusiasts.

Yes, exactly, and that's how they are described in Fallout 1. One of the NPCs in the Hub calls them "a bunch of gun nuts", and that's largely how they come off - a small, isolated sect, not a nation. Even if they opt to help you directly take out the Mariposa Military Base, they only send a couple of commandos in with you, not a platoon....implying that they either don't have the manpower to field an operation of that size, or they don't care that much, or both.

Which again brings us to - how many are they exactly? I'm really curious

I find difficult to imagine them counting more that a few hundred, all squashed together in that bunker
("midwest BoS" and such I don't count, cus they're obviously very different beast)
Weren't they originally a small team of commandos, or something? At least one woman among them, we must assume :D
Oh dear :I

:V

I can agree to all of that, but the last one, because the BOS are the aggressors, they made a full out military campaign against the Vipers, wiping them out.

But the Vipers were disrupting other communities, so... "they started it" :D
NCR were not attacking others, they didn't act like bandits or thugs

In return, I can agree that even attacking raiders is a bit outside of the BoS code, but maybe they saw it as an easy fly to swat, before staying isolationist, idunno :D

Its explained...
Vipers were so fucking big band of raiders that they went on BoS territory, to pillage there and so on.
So BoS decided to send FEW men to oliberate them, but they treated it like training, nothing more.
Unlucky one of them (leader of BoS) was killed by poison arrow.
And thats is the point, when BoS started full campaign against Vipers.
So its damn hard to get "attention" of BoS...

Actually they only started the campaign when Rombus took control of the BOS.

IMO, a lot more couldmhave been done with the BoS, but the powers that be decided war with NCR and a decline was better.

My future of BoS is intergration with NCR strictly on a R&D level.

They offer to arm and train NCR forces with small amounts of advanced weapons, provided they are accounted for after action and AFTER, a treaty has been secured and put into place.

In return for BoS support, the brotherhood has direct communication to NCR leadership at anytime.

NCR transfers all advanced military tech over to the brotherhood but is taught how to use and is able to keep, non-military gear.

Considering they made an alliance with the chosen one, I highly dislike the idea some fanatic plunged the BoS into a war with NCR.

Like that idiot NCR sent to get Helios 1 operational, the NCR desperately NEEDS the BoS for expertise as the BoS need NCR for food and overall protection from massive enemies like the legion.

What?

. Near Extermination by the Brotherhood of Steel in 2155: One Brotherhood squad found the Vipers, and during the firefight, John Maxson's father (who was leading the squad) was killed with a poisoned arrow. The response from the Brotherhood was immediate. The Paladins, now led by Rhombus, began a full scale campaign against the Vipers, tracking them down and wiping out almost all of their members within the span of a month. A handful of Vipers were able to flee north and east into the mountain range, but they were never heard from again. During the campaign, the Brotherhood sent a few scouts and emissaries to the Hub to track down Vipers members, and from these beginnings, the Hub and the Brotherhood began full trade relations (caravans had delivered to the Brotherhood before, but not long after the destruction of the Vipers, caravan trains ran directly from the Hub to the Brotherhood on a regular basis). So some good did come out of the Vipers' presence in the wastes, for what it's worth. [...]"

John Maxson was leader at time.

Oh that's where I screwed up. Thanks for the info... but wait a minute... not wanting to diss on the credibility of the site how did they get that information? The game never says, the developers never say it from what I can remember. Oh, the bible said it right?
