New animations 2

Has anyone ever finished the hero tribal animations (hfprim and hmwarr) for all weapons? I was searching a bit here and found knives/hammers, as well as an SMG for hmwarr, but am not clear on the status of the rest. Are there sticks/pistols/rifles/big guns for the tribals in anyone's secret stash?

Nope, unfortunately, besides Pixote's work of knives, hammers and smgs, no other animations were done. Unless, someone super secretly making those, which I doubt. BUT there is a solution for your problem. There is Olympus 2207 mod that has tribals made in 3d and converted to work in F2. It's not 100% looking like original F2 tribal critter but still, quite good. Here is full game installer. (Warning! Game is in Russian) Look in critter.dat after installing. Or download this archive.

Just remember to mention Olympus project in your release notes as the authors of the critters. They did fantastic job!

Thanks Drobovik, I'm downloading that for further study. The men look pretty good :clap:, but I don't know about the women. Like the blonde/redhead in killap's RP, the ladies' stature is uncanny, they always look like they're walking down a steep hill or something.
 
I just realized those could work really well for alternate graphics for the Khans.

Once the engine conversion is complete, I'm going to finish the thing I started a while back with the Khans... using "Long Hair Tribal" and an alternate black guy graphic, forget if that one's tribal/longhair or not. I would love to see maybe 4 or 5 different critter graphics in that map to really give it some flavor.

EDIT: For example have a unique graphic for Garl different from anyone else in the game, and have the "leaders" (Phrax, Tolya, Gwen, etc etc) have different graphics from the generic Raiders on the rest of the map.
 
Olympus F2 lady critter makes the redhair tribal girl look good, considering the ponytails are mere recolors of the redhaired vault dweller and metal armor girl.
 
Pretty cool. :cool: Thanks for those. I changed the tribals that you encounter (cannibals, etc) so I could give them different weapons besides spears or SMGs (I've done that throughout the game before, like that green haired Mohawk raider, thanks to those new punk girl animations.) I had to rename the ones for the males to work, which took a while (I wish there was a fast way to do this besides copy and paste) then I realized I did it for the hero animations instead of the Sulik type ones. That was a waste of about an hour's time. :facepalm: Luckily, all I had to do was change the first letter to fix it to where I wanted it. It works pretty good now.
 
Man, I have to admit those Extra Tribal Critters could be handy for Mr. Cruz in San Fran. He doesn't look right having a mohawk-esque style unlike the regular Dude critter, who looks so unique compared to his other friends.… And boy, Falltergeist will need support for varying palettes to increase variations of ethnicity without multiple graphics resources.
 
I'm interested in helping out with critters. Anyone got a project for me to try? Any especially needed animations (preferably ones where I can just perform the edits)? Shoot me a PM or something.
 
@Ursa Nice work! I think that fits nicely into the existing FO2-style graphics for critters such as geckos. Does this have all animations such as move and attack?
@Drobovik Did you get this onto the Database perhaps?

Maybe I'll add these as optional in Fixt ;)

When Falltergeist comes, it should allow configuring just about anything you want the player critter to look like. Colors for their hair, skin tone, or even apparel in full variations.… Because, it's gotta be really hard on the graphics budget if new resources have to be used for every ethnicity in-game.
 
So I just though I try to have a go at the little vault dweller the animation is slopy so far but the shadows are better then my previous attamps I hope to make this little guy unlike the damned ghoul I started years ago.

Although the ghoul only lacks the death animations everything else is rendered the pants only version is even usable has knife pistol smg and rifle. Heres a link to him if someone wants to check him out.

small update the idling is not good looks like the kid is drinking instead of rubbing the nose will fix it... but now there is a walk and use animation (pallette haven't been applied either)
