I don't believe in indoor cats, that is the path for lonely homosexual men and crazy old ladies. Cats are viscous and demented predators. I greatly enjoyed watching my previous cat, Sir Charles stalk out rabbits and tree rats in my backyard through my window. One bunny in particular he had shredded it's leg and it was trying with all it's might to make it back to the woods, Sir Charles would jump at it and tear into it a little more and afterwards back off to let it scramble in vain while slowly stalking up on it again. Finally after torturing it for a good 15-20 minutes he moved in and dealt the coup de grâce.

A dog would have just ran up and ripped into the thing, killing it in a few moments. The cats method was much more entertaining to watch.

My cat Rusty who I recieved in 2000, and she is now currently 10, and is a european tabby cat. She has always been very hyper and fun to watch, as she sometimes climbs up doors and curtains and often doesn't know how to get back down, so that's very amusing, but very unfortunately she was diagnosed with diabetes four months ago, since that happened she hasn't been as fun and active as she used to be. It's really quite depressing, but i'm happy is she's happy.

And Bal-Sagoth, my cat may aswell be an indoor cat now that it has been diagnosed, and i'm not attracted to men or a crazy and old (at least I don't think I am).

Well best advice I can give you, and if you can afford it, get a cat yourself.
    They are great companions.

Tell me they got the fucker and experimented his skull's resistance against severe blows.

lolz. some of you make me chuckle. my cats were rescued from an abandoned church in Brooklyn (a mother with a brand-new litter of kittens). they grew up in Brooklyn. outdoor was not even close to being an option (either logistically or concerning their well-being). they're indoor cats by necessity.

Yeah I already addressed that. Stop living in shitty places where cats can't roam outdoors.

it's not like i took them from the country and brought them to nyc. they were born there and street cats don't exactly have a long shelf life in nyc. not only did i rescue them, but they're happy and healthy. you should meet them. they like people.

That's really great that you rescued your cats, Twinkie. You're a nice guy in my book, even though you don't think very highly of me.

I know! And that look is always there! It's incredibly endearing, especially because of how intensely affectionate, gentle and talkative she is. She won't sit still and won't let anybody (but me, of course) pick her up but she will come up to you and talk back and forth for as long as you have the energy to keep going and if you find yourself parked anywhere she's bound to find her way to yer lap.

Sadly no, there are plenty of nasty types where I live (it's gotten better since then though) so it could of been anyone.

Planning on getting a new cat soon though this time I'm doing the choosing so we don't get a mentally ill one.
Also my mum wants a teeny ginger cat for some reason.

I had a ginger once. Named him Lord Bratticus Spoo the Magnificent Bastard. He was a loving but high-strung cat, and unfortunately later in life he lived up to his name and turned into a psychotic asshole. He would attack me and my mother for so much as walking by him. By "attack" I mean he would try to claw the shit out of our legs while screaming. He was fixed, too. I can't imagine what he'd have been like if he still had his nuts.

Anyways, ginger cats are typically more energetic than others. There are exceptions, of course, but it's true. You can tell a lot about a cat from its coat because of how it's tied into their genetics. For instance, virtually all calico cats are female, and any male calico is guaranteed to be sterile. White cats with blue eyes are usually deaf. TMYK.

I was thinking of calling it Chum Bucket and making it wear a teeny pirate hat.

Yea, I've read a couple of books on cats (working in a charity shop can get boring sometimes and for some reason we get lots of books on cats) though we call calico cats tortoiseshell cats on this side of the pond. :P
