New Fallout 2 World Map

The line-less map is finally finished. Why a line-less map?...Well the lines were pretty shitty IMO, but now you can add whatever grid, and whatever color grid you like. I will upload a Photoshop file with the map artwork, so people can mess around with the grid to suit themselves. Now people will have to convert the images themselves, but the PS file will have the old map and it's box slices to use as guides. Please don't message me as to how to make the map work, etc.

For those adventurous types...You will need the program Frame Animator 2.70 – (This has the Fallout color palette file), and work out the rest yourselves. Basically load the WRLDMP FRM (WRLDMP00 to WRLDMP19), and replace with the new GIF's, then save and override the old WRLDMP FRM's. All the world FRM's need to be placed in the Fallout2\data\Art\intrface folder.

If you want just to try out the line-less map, well just drop the FRM's in the Fallout2\data\Art\intrface folder, override any previous FRM's if you wish, or back them up first.

Now there will be 3 versions - Line-less (without cities), Line-less (with cities), Dotted Green Grid (with cities). If people want other combinations, well they can mess around with the PS file. Remember the game will still have the black fog of war effect...

The finished files will be up in a day or so. For the curious souls that wonder how I did this, well - one pixel at a time (all up 87,000 pixels), but I needed a clean Fallout 2 map to help me build the Mutants Rising map so it had to be done. The map isn't perfect, but I tried my best. :roll:

The new world maps FRM's need to be placed in the Fallout2\data\Art\intrface folder - Note this file has all 3 new map types. The file is here: New Fallout 2 World Map No Lines. Here is the Photoshop file with the 3 different versions of the map (for those *creative ones who wish to make their own grid types).

*Can people please load up their map versions onto this thread.

As for me I don't use a grid in my mod too, it just looks better without it imo.
 
Pixote, are you at least leaving in the option to install the RP with the latest world map (the one with a solid blue line grid)? That one is my personal favorite :wiggle:

Otherwise, I can't believe the amount of work you are willing to do to give people such options! 87000 pixels = you're crazy :shock: :aiee: :salute:

Killap can decide which map suits the RP best...I actually like the world map without the grid, but I designed it so people can use whatever map they want for both Fallout 2 and the RP. Yeah those crazy bloody pixels, there was no other way I could do it without looking cheap... :roll:

Just seeing this... Pixote, did you try to contact them about this with said counter-claim?
 
If they revert the takedown and bring all the files back, I guess so. I mean, isn't this the shit you've worked on, which barely resembles the original artworks? I don't get why these retards send a takedown about it.
Maybe someone should pester Pete Hines on twitter and make the world more aware of this shit.
 
If people need the stuff I'll reload them onto MediaFire...I always keep backups of my files.
