New Fallout 3 Screenshots

I still think Grimhound is a plant :revolution: but he's right, NMA has no link on the fansites list for a couple of months now, that's a bit excessive.

And people aren't even linking to NMA anymore on the forum, before the links are being censored. :Bizarro:
Bah, they're just jealous we have a lot more visitors than they do...

Eh. I've seen certain things I've liked and certain things I haven't. I don't know enough about Bethesda to brand a crimson A on their forehead, so I try to remain optimistic. Though I do feel certain things don't deserve all the flak they've been getting in terms of the scrutiny.

Then again, I went through all this garbage when EA attained the C&C license, though they did a much better job of kissing community ass than Bethesda. Whether that's a good or bad thing, you decide.

Note: Granted, for EA to pucker up it took one and a half failed forays into the franchise and the start of a spiral into inevitable bankruptcy.

We normally don't allow discussion of Bethesda's moderating and rules on this forum. We don't allow cross-site trolling because it doesn't lead to anything. Don't like Bethesda's rules? Tell them. We have no reason to care.

Brio: the links were removed since the last scans were put up. We're now marked as a site "that hosts scans" and thus taken from the list (kotaku is still on the blog roll, though)

That's the official reasoning. Unofficially, they're just fed up with us.

Haven't seen them censor out links to NMA yet. People link to our XP help page and stuff like that plenty

Yeah, the link on the signatures is allowed, but everything else is just cut down immediately. Still BIZARRO!, oh well. The other places that had the scans are on the list again, like my blog.

Wait, so links are actively being removed? I haven't seen that. If that's the case, I'd have to talk to Matt about this, because that's edging on blacklisting.

And I'd love nothing more than newsposting "NMA blacklisted on Bethesda forums". It's so apropos :D

I wonder if NMA removed those scans, would Bethesda restore their link on their fansites page?

think he was referring to the screenshots and didn't realize they were from an online gaming site..

Almost all of the other pics we've gotten of FINO3 were mag scans, so I can see where the confusion might have come from.

All those scans are pretty much gone, tho', with a few exceptions.

I usually remove the scans when Bethesda gives out the screens.

Well, Bethesda didn't really give out the new screens, per se. It's more like they were theived off a website that wasn't supposed to show them anyway.
They might have something against that. :P

Thieved?

Look, in a legal sense there is a copyright on all screenshots, true. Even *after* they're "officially" released.

These screens were given to the magazine and the put online by CVG. Like we've always done and always will do, we and other sites proceeded to copy them. That's just the way screenshot distribution works, unless there's a big fat "EXCLUSIVE" near it, and even then it's slightly rude to CVG, but not to Bethesda.

The fact that CVG had to remove 'em again is no concern of ours. They made a mistake that's simply not related to what we should do in any way.

If Bethesda thinks differently they can bite me.

Also, we usually remove the scans per the original publishers' complaints, amirite? Yeamrite.
