New Vegas cut material info

I always pictured Julie Farkas just turning on her heels and looking the other way whenever I saw that "..." response when I said goodbye.

She is a busy woman, after all.

Although I like the final version of Ulysses given in Lonesome Road, this version would probably make the game way more balanced in terms of factions, and their general appeal.
Legion turned out to be relatively original, but in many ways, stereotypical bad guys due to very little content related to them. A pro-Legion companion with a good script and several more quests related to it... that could mean a whole new world.

As for other cut out material, the thing with power in Freeside is really sad to have been cut out. Black Mountain too, since it could've been way more interesting to visit that place more than once with some real goal in mind.
Not sure how it would exactly work out, though, with BoS in vicinity and all that. Maybe it would get a bit more complicated.

In general, aside from that merchant and post-end gameplay, which is a stupid idea to begin with, everything else could've made for a better game.

Also, Julie Farkas is an ex-Enclave member and her ubermensch attitude sometimes gets out, so she doesn't really feel to be well-mannered with you, dirty wasteland subhuman.

Ah come on, they had plenty of time to work something out. It didn't have to be anything complicated. A few dialog options, a few scripted events, and maybe a quest or two just to show you how right your choice was.

Quit protecting them, they don't deserve it.

Nevermind that they had so much time "to work something out" that the game was full of broken quests when released, but the fact alone that you can make the Legion win makes post-ending gameplay much more complex than what you think.

That actually sounds kind of awesome.

Is that made up by you now or is it written down somewhere? I haven't heard anything like that before.

Yeah, I very much doubt she, harboring anti-wastelander sentiments, would join the most selfless and pro-wastelander faction around.
(except if maybe she get's a lot of action on the side as repayment, if you know what I'm saying.)

Why not? Arcade Gannon did exactly that. Not all Enclave members are like Moreno or EnclaveForever. The others seemed to be pretty nice people.

Although I made that up, Hass is right, she could very well be an ex-Enclave member, or a member of some other organization.
Followers don't seem to dig too much into their members' background, they're happy with them as long as they do what they're supposed to do. They don't have the luxury of being (too) picky.

Also, it's kind of their philosophy to not care about background. Starting anew and all that jazz is kind of their thing.

My opinion: if there ever was a game that deserves a remake in a much better engine and with at least double the development time, it is New Vegas.

No it's van buren. NV is just part of it.

Not really. New Vegas has not much in common with Van Buren. They took a few ideas, but that's all.

The only thing they have in common is that Hoover Dam is part of the setting, there is Legion and NCR there, but everything else is completely different, no Victor Presper in New Vegas, or Mr House in Van Buren, Graham is almost the complete opposite of what he was before, Arcade was an ex-Enclave Trooper instead of the son of one, among a lot of other things.

I mean for scale NV is just small part of Van buren.
And I want good old Isometic version and huge land scale Fallout.

Ulysses is Presper from the original Van Buren draft, conceptually. He reacts to the path you took.

I would really have loved to have seen some of the stuff that had been planned but could not be implemented or implemented on time.

Ulysses is just one of them, would have been even cooler if he would still go along with you to the Divide but that would probably more planning than was reasonably possible at the time.

The plans for Black Mountain sound pretty interesting to me, it would make the location more interesting.

Really a shame that they had to cut on HELIOS One, would be a nice tie in if you did direct the power to places like Freeside.

I do wish the Fiends were implemented as they were intended as it would have added another anti NCR faction the player could support.

Underpass, even how little importance it had would still have made up a nice break from the otherwise abandoned upper North of the map.

Fortunately some of the mods have restored missing or changed material such as the open world spaces in Freeside and the Strip.
I doubt though any modder would be able to implement much of this list.
