One of the notorius shareholders at the Raging Bull forums, frymuchan, has gotten word from Luke Haas that there might be some news this week (probably next week) about IPLY. Here's what he posted:
Luke Haase had told me to expect some news this week. I'm frustrated that he told me that and again there is no word from Interplay or any credible rumors from ongling gaming sites. I've been trying to get back ahold of Luke, but have been unsuccessful so far. This waiting is becoming maddening.
Waiting? Try waiting for Fallout 3....

Meh, Iply needs to go ahead and sell the FO lisence and the unfinished FO3 to Troika.

Then go bankrupt.

Stay tuned, kiddies. Judging by a couple of the more interesting rumors I've heard the the grapevine, things might have become yet more interesting for Fifi.

Intestinal Rupturing Service? They aren't the only interested party, either. Maybe he and Ken Lay can be married into the same cell.

I think animal welfare would want to hunt Chucky down too. God only knows what kind of hell those rats must be going through...

I've split the rest of the thread and Vatted it due to the sheer irrelevance of the post and the idiocy involved behind the intent to post it on this forum.

End of that topic and back to the discussion of the thread.

Why would Troika want the unfinished Fallout 3? I'm sure they can afford the same toilet paper the rest of us use.

Ba-da bum *ching*

I have to agree there were some pretty piss-poor design ideas in Fallout 3, but it had some good ideas, in particular some choices you could make. It could be used...a little bit.

It was turning out fine, but with some strange choices in the mix. Saint doesn`t like the story, but the way it was being structured was much more interesting than anything Troika ever did, and i`m sure there wouldn`t be the annoying problems that Arcanum had with combat, and the graphics, sound and art choices had a promise of a good atmosphere, wich was the strong point of Arcanum.

But again if BIS could work in interesting stuff like Jefferson (minus the combat) and Fallout3 after IWD2, i`m sure Troika can do it even after ToEE, wich was really not that interesting.

Edit: Of course we`re talking about these things innocently and maybe other company, not Troika or Obsidian, may already have snatched the rights to make Fallout3. I wonder how people will react to that, if somehow happens.

The difference being that Troika never worked on a Fallout

Remember, we're a rabid fan community, and some of those choices, like the tribes and the fucking space station and the goddamn robot prison, should never have even been considered.

May have already snatched? I doubt it. If Caen has made a sale, he would announce it, tho' he may already have made a deal with someone.

It's bound to be EA, then. Eheheheeh.

Or Vivendi! "World of Fallout"

I wonder if my family and all my relatives sold all their real estate and cars, maybe I could afford to purchase the Fallout license. Then I would blackmail the entire community and threaten selling the license real cheap to Eidos or Microsoft.

we're a rabid fan community,

We`re a very diverse community, just because in the old Iplay boards or at Obsidian or MistressLair it was fashionable to say beeing rabid=Fallout fan doesn`r mean it`s entirely true. Diversity is the key to this community, those that didn`t understand that went to decay or moved to other green pastures.

and some of those choices, like the tribes

That`s Fallout2 fault.

and the fucking space station

I already showed pages of 50`s pulp with space stations, and explained the "fear from above" socilogical context of the time, with Sputnick and the race to space, so explain me why is the station wrong?

and the goddamn robot prison, should never have even been considered.

Do you know how the prison area was going to work? And what is wrong with cluncky robots in Fallout?

Now if you show me like Saint did why one armed combat skill doesn`t make sense, or why putting the mormons regular name instead off an "Hubollogist" type of invented name was silly, then i can agree, it wasn`t going to be perfect, like the previous weren`t. But overall seemed quite interesting, in my humble opinion.

It's not so much the fact that they put in a space station that bothers me, but rather the fact that you're able to travel to it..

Rm... where did you guys read that you could go to a space station? Damn I musta missed something. I know about the robot prison (I saved the news entry on the storyline) but I never heard about the space station. Was that brought up in an old news post?
