NFL 2009

9ers are 2 and O - leading the NFC west.

I won my money fantasy league game

Right now I'm 25-6 in my pickem league. First place, no big deal...

i really wanna get a money league going next year. seriously.

anyway, non-fantasy related: Ronnie Brown is on fucking fire, eh? i'm not a *huge* fan of the wildcat but the dolphins are making it look amazing.

I'd be up for it, if you'd need people.

Yeah, that was a great opening drive, and a great response against the Manning/Clark first play TD as well.

Also, Ronnie Brown is saving my fantasy team right now. Go Brown!

cool. well i'll keep you in my head. i might start a money league full of all sorts of people next year who've expressed interest since this season's started. i'd also prefer it to be an autodraft as well since it's like..."your picks are your fault or your money" sort of accountability. long time to go 'til next Sept. but good to get these sorts of conversations going anyway.

and yeah as if i wasn't destroying enough already, that Dallas Clark play gave me an immediate extra 10 points (approx). hehe.

I was wondering why we weren't playing in a money league already.

Love watching the power running game run over a fast defense like the Colts. And congrats to Ricky Williams for having clean piss so far. Dude, nobody's saying you can't get high, just wait until the offseason bra'.

edit: That's a sick formation, I don't know what you'd call it, a wildcat T w/Ronnie Brown flanked by Ricky Williams and the FB. Shove it down Indy's throat, they're gonna be gassed...

X ______T G C G T TE ______Y

________FB HB HB

edit x2: How bad do the Colts miss Bob Sanders?

for some reason i don't understand, BN is against it. next year, though...aside from an NMA league, i'm all for it.

also: this is a pretty exciting monday night game!

Manning goes 80 yards in :32.
This is coming down to who has the ball last.
Miami has to keep pounding.
Pennington is no Manning.

Bums, couldn't even cover the spread. Miami's D was out to lunch.

edit: How the fuck do you play at home, rack up 250 yards rushing, hold the ball for 45 minutes, not turn it over and still lose?

Attrocious open field tackling.
Shitty clock management.
Conservative play calling.
Butterfingered receivers.

Dude, when you're in scoring position, tied, you DO NOT take the field goal and give the ball back to Manning with 3:00 left. That's conceding defeat right there. Retahds.

So it looks like Chad85 bought those tickets in the end zone at Lambeau and gave them to Bengals fans so he could do his TD leap. As a Packer fan I approve. Very funny antics from Chad and I'm impressed by his dedication.

He gets low marks for the actual leap itself though. That needs practice.

I wonder if he planted them in both end zones.

edit: Rosh Hoshana huh? Only in NYC, the games get moved up to 1PM for the high holiday, wouldn't you know a home Pats game is carried by the NFC network FOX (because when you play the Falcons at home that's an NFC game?), who of course pre-empts that game for the "local" NFC team in the GIANTS. I'm boycotting lochs and bagels and Seinfeld from here on out. And of course our AFC game will be the Jets - joy.

Good news is, tickets are still available for the Pats game. Question is do I want to spend $70 to sit in the ass end of Foxboro, sit in traffic, overpriced beer, etc.

Child, please! I'm sure he knew exactly where he was going to score. He's Chad.

What's up with the Pats WRs? Moss, Welker, and Edelman all questionable. Where's Chad Jackson when you need him?

I think Belichik likes to fuck with the league and the media in that they force him to post stuff like that. Brady's been listed as probable (shoulder) his entire career.
I think it's safe to say Chad Jackson was a bust at this point, he's not even on the team anymore AFAIK.
Moss got Revis-ed, Welker is still injured (he's the biggest loss, without him underneath, the Jets blitz killed Brady) Edelman looks to be the second-coming of Welker, which is amazing considering he's a QB out of Kent State, Galloway's long in the tooth.

Meanwhile where the fuck is Derek Burgess? I guess he was on the field but you wouldn't notice.
What's up with the Pats O-line?
And why the fuck (going all the way back to the SB loss) do you not adjust to blitz packages when pretty-boy is getting devoured? 2nd TE, Max Protect, whatever... There are certain teams that have enough up front to just shred the pats, and w/o a nasty dump off guy like Welker, Brady is fucked.

The sky must be falling down, Lions won!

Also, holy late game comeback for the Vikings. Damn, Faaaarve.

Random week 3 thoughts:

WTF are those Seahawks unis? I think I puked in my mouth when I saw those. Do they expect to boost jersey sales with those hideous fucking attrocities? A color-blind pimp wouldn't wear that.

Jim Zorn - dead coach walking.

JaMarcus Russel - Davis' Folly. The Raiders are like Cuba. Everybody's holding their breath until the old man dies, then there's gonna be dancing in the streets.

Denver's 3-0, they won't win one game in Oct.

Stafford, grow a beard or something dude, you look like a JHS kid.

TO, week 3 and the honeymoon is over.

Edit:
Dude, I didn't finish my first cup of coffee and the newspaper and radio is already talking about a NYC Vs. NYC SuperBowl. And I'm not talking yahoo fans like "ehhh yo, dis iz Carmine from Staten Island". Talking newspaper guys and shit. Buddy Ryan's 1st year the Jets won SB III. Sanchez is the second coming of Joe Willy.
It's week 3!

As far as the Giants, I've got to say that Eli is really looking sharp. He'll never put up the gaudy numbers like big bro, but he does more when it counts than his brother does. Their run game is not so fierce, and the WRs are bunch of no-names. Eli is earning that pay raise he got so far.

Week 3. Can we not wait until say mid-season before we start crowning or burying anyone's asses? Well, except the Rams, Raiders and Chiefs, they blow.

In case anyone is feeling down today, this should brighten your day:

Dink. Doink. Dunk.
NCAA football is looking tougher than the NFL lately, when's the NFL gonna get like the Catholics and penalize you for even thinking about hurting a QB? I thought Reggie White had pull with God, WTF preacherman!

Honestly, I didn't mind the lime green jerseys, they've (seahawks) been sporting that color on all the fan gear so it was only a mater of time before they tossed it on the players. In person its more of a neon lime green but no wheres near the electric neon green that highlights their other home uniform.

Keeping in mind, this is just the "alternate" home jersey. The NFL made some changes and now allow teams to have two home jerseys and one away.

I would have gone a different route but hopefully the hawks wont dawn that one too much... But hey, someone's got to give the Oregon Ducks something to feel good about.

Ugh, I was at that game Sunday, screamed my voice away with everyone else... It was a close game but I'm still miffed about the 2nd to the last Bears TD call. It was in no way shape or form a TD. On another note, the Seahawks D was looking pretty damn good compared to the week prior.

But all in all, I'd say the Hawks did good for having 11 starters out... WTH is with that anyway? is there something wrong with the water up here? I thought it was supposed to smell like eggs.

After the game a Bears fan tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Wow, you know, coming into this game, I didn't expect much -but Jesus Christ you Seahawk fans are INSANE!"

That made my day, and my sore throat feel better, which is still a bit spotty.

Here is a picture of my awesome Seahawks hat I purchased just for these types of occasions, made for an AWESOME tan line on my head...
