atari bigby out indefinitely. i have to say...the way the press & coaches around GB have been talking about 3rd round draft pick Morgan Burnett...i am actually pleased with this news. i never liked Bigby.

I liked Bigby that one season he was healthy. Two year ago. :)

I haven't heard anything but good news about Burnett. He seems like a perfect fit for that D - another gambling ballhawk. GB has a ton of young talent in the secondary with Burnett, Lee, Underwood, Blackmon, and Williams (although Williams really isn't "young" by football standards anymore - I think he's 27). It'll be interesting to see which ones become good players this year.

And I'm glad I'm not a Broncos fan.

even then he was incredibly penalty-prone and always looking for the big hit instead of following the ball or the coverage. sure, he had some amazing hits...but i'll be glad to be rid of him if Burnett proves to be more like Collins than Bigby.

You are correct, sir. Atari Bigby is a cool name for a safety though. I'll miss that too.

Burnett played with the first team during the Packers scrimmage over the weekend. I didn't see it, but I guess he did okay. He didn't make any big plays, but he didn't make any mistake either. I guess Flynn looked horrible, but he was running the second-string offense against the first-string defense. Still, GB is screwed if Rodgers gets hurt. :)

we have depth in a few places, but not the kind of depth which makes me confident. i feel like if ANYBODY gets hurt we're screwed.

Odds are good someone will get hurt.

I wouldn't want to lose a safety. With Bigby in Limbo GB are back to zero depth at that position. Zero good depth, anyway.

EDIT:

The Pack have made some interesting changes to the LB lineup. Matthews has switched sides, and Chillar is the new starter in CMJ's old OLB spot. Hawk and Barnett still inside with Bishop the main ILB backup. I approve of this change, especially since it will mean some playing time for Bishop finally.

The OL situation seems very confused again though. I wish they'd just pick a line and stick with it for once.

Yeah, it's just a cut. Yes, blood and all, but it's a cut. Cuts aren't going to prevent him from playing quarterback.

I kind of like watching QBs get slapped around, they need to be reminded of what game they're playing. I'm more shocked that Vernon Gholston found his way into the backfield, was he lost?

That was a pretty intense game for the first 20mins or so I watched.
