"Set Phasers to Fun."
Did anyone else notice this?

Yet another contradiction- Nuka-Cola appearing 99+ years before its creation.

Maybe, but remember, this is the team that 'forgot' Jet wasn't a Pre-War drug, among other blunders.
So?, The team who wrote Fallout 2 forgot the origins of Jet. Everyone makes mistakes now and then.

I.E. the person who thought she was Jet-ed up before it was invented.

Difference is, Black Isle and Avellone acknowledged these things and made note of it in the Fallout Bible. The kinds of things good writers should do. Bethesda hasn't for a more major lore issue that contradicts another team's work, and it's been over 15 years since Fallout 2.

No comparison there. Bethesda made a worse mistake.

maybe it was left by the Time Traveling Hipster? could this be foreshadowing for an upcoming DLC? time travel was in FO2, so it must be canon if aliens are considered!

Well you know how their PR guy is, but it should tell you how they really feel when Hines says this:

You know because adding some understandable realism like eating, drinking, and other things are irrelevant "w/ talking mutants and ghouls".
Pete is definitely not meeting his full potential in Bethesda. He ought to be working at EA instead. He'd fit in there perfectly.

I guess Bethesda is more than willing to screw up their own established lore just for the gimmicky aesthetics. I would not be surprised to learn that Fallout 5 will be filled with 'kewl' 50s looking pre-War power armor that are superior to Enclave Power Armor, ghouls are made through 'magic' radiation instead of normal radiation, and that Nuka Cola was invented in medieval times by a group of sorcerers wielding power from underground alien cities.
