Obsidian has already proven they could do wonders with the Fallout 4 dialogue system

I dunno about Obsidian making a new Fallout. Obviously I want it, but the idea of them having to work for the idiotic creeps at Bethesda again just makes me angry.
Didn't you read that Youtube Comment I posted? If you don't like Bethesda's hard work, it is exactly the same as "shitting on a soldier's grave on Veterans' Day."
Nah, if you want to use tortured analogies it's more like your ex wife's new husband letting you see your child after he made the kid dress up like a clown and make fool of himself in front of the whole world.

I wouldn't say it's your child, more like a kid you find smart and sensible, someone you think has a future in nuclear physics. And then thanks to his foster parents goes on a downhill road of drugs and crime.

Having been reading this thread... And seeing the images. I can only think of one thing:

Lynette... Vault City.

Oh how I crave for such depth of character and interaction. I cannot help but wonder what 'modern' gamers would think of trying to navigate that conversation.

Easy, that it's to much reading, not enough shooting. Pete and Todd answered that one often enough in Interviews ... and I have no doubt this is actually what they observed with their main target audience.

So is anyone going to point out that Marbug is voiced by Jim Cummings?

Goddamn I love his voice, even the Gizmo version.

I agree, Lynette was...a piece of work to deal with.

Did you mean a bitch? Because I agree.
I was playing as a nice person and went through all the effort to help her with getting a tool and a wrench only for her to continue being a bitch. I was almost tempted to put a round in each of her knee caps but no no, I'm a "nice" person.

No such limits. Killed her, ripped her apart with my minigun.

Did you really? Didn't the city turn hostile?

Hopefully not many, but who knows. I'd like to see Obsidian take a crack at the voiced protagonist bit-they could make that really shine, I think. Well, hopefully better choice of VA. Mike Thorton was a bit...dry? lol

There aren't voice actors that can turn a bad script good.

Alpha Protocol was essentially an RPG with sub-par mechanics. Obsidian showed that a 4-answer truncated dialogue wheel isn't an insurmountable limitation, your writers are. And Bethesda's writers are... something shakespearean about death.

It's like they deliberately and intentionally recruit stupid writers. With their pockets and brand strength, you'd expect at least mediocrity, even through the power of staff turnover and statistics alone. Their writing is worse than filler text programmers use to test dialogue tree functionality. It's CONSISTENTLY terrible.

I died several bloody turns later....

Super stimpaks are your friend.

Actually, "fast inventory" is a better friend, and a stack of stimpscks.

Sides, Lynnette didn't want the wrench and pliers, that was Valerie

Yeah well... didn't have them. What made it was worse was that I was only 7 hexes away from the orange covered area, promising freedom.

Can we stop with the quote pyramids? It makes this shit hard to read.

He's also Tigger and the Master. Yeah. Try watching Winnie the Pooh now.

Nah, I mostly remember him as this charming fellow.
