Bethesda has finally announced the release date for the next New Vegas DLC, Old World Blues, though it's not coming anytime soon, seeing release on July 19th.
We’ve received plenty of inquiries asking when we’ll be releasing Fallout: New Vegas’s third DLC, Old World Blues. Today I can confirm the content will release on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, July 19th.

Prior to release, we will release a new title update for New Vegas. Along with adding support for Old World Blues, the update will bring improvements to performance and stability in major areas.

We’ll also be releasing a new trailer for Old World Blues in the coming weeks. I’ve already seen an early version, and it’s crazy awesome. Until then, today we’re releasing new screenshots on our Facebook or Flickr pages.

I know I should be happy but... goddammit!!!!
I was waiting for this game to be released this month, perhaps the only release I was truly interested in, and now we can wait another month.

Also means Lonesome Road is delayed.

Must be something really serious to cause such a delay.

What the hell Bethesda, we know this has been completed for months and you already told us it was going to be released in June.

That's it, I'm boycotting this DLC. If you're not going to keep your word and keep trying to pull off stupid marketing stunts like this then I'm not going to buy your product.

Edit:

Must be something really serious to cause such a delay.

It's more likely this is some kind of marketing stunt to get attention, I think it's been said already that it was up to Bethesda's marketing team to decide when this is released and to announce it.

Yes, Bethesda determines when these things are released, as publisher. It's not just the marketing team though that's a big part of it.

Marketing stunt? That's a stretch. All these slow, plodding releases of New Vegas DLC are doing is killing sales as people lose interest in the game. I don't see the angle for a marketing stunt.

Meh. I was hoping they'll release it this month so that Lonesome Road can be released earlier. Not interested in this particular DLC here.

Annoying that they threw out the June thing earlier on and (of course) only tell us now that it's coming next month instead.

Though, while I've greatly enjoyed the previous two DLCs and really look forward to Lonesome Road, I'm pretty lukewarm about Old World Blues so far.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is somehow related to the late Honest Hearts PS3 release. Now the stuff is synchronised again and there are not just a few days between HH und OWB PS3 Release.

Yeah, that'll show 'em!

It might not hurt Beth's wallet that much but if they're going to keep doing crap like this then they're not going to be getting my $10.

I probably shouldn't have bought Dead Money either with that whole timed exclusive thing.

Sir, with all due respect, wasn't releasing Fallout 3 in the first place based on the assumption that they had a hardcore, tried-and-true fan base that they were sure would buy the game, even without the legions of fanboys who joined on after they found out it was Oblivious with guns?

For all of the people on these forums saying that they're boycotting this dlc, I'm pretty sure we're all going to buy it, right? Even if there's a modicum of the original Fallout spirit in it, we'd want to experience it.

By extending their DLC release cycle, they're just assuring that the people who buy these will be satiated until the release of Skyrim - my argument being that many of the people who "discovered fallout" via the new games will be interested in buying the new game by "fallout (3)'s creators", right?

They're just trying to keep people on the hook until the next release, like what Bioware did with Mass Effect 2 dlc. I don't think it's that far-fetched to assume it's a marketing ploy, but perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe people are getting sick of FNV.

I really don't think so, because it's hurting their image. People get angry about the release date pushing not only here, but on other sites as well, yadda-yadda.

Dude should totally boycott Oxygen! that will show them all!

also you will need this. *hands you boycott hat*

Okay. Don't look at the pictures. Don't look at the pictures. Don't look at the pictures.

...

DAMN IT! Release it NOW! I can't wait any longer!

I'm starting to think that this is an elaborate plot by beth to make people lose interest in New Vegas. THEN they'll announce they're fallout 4.

Best thing in that pic was the Repconn reskin of the building interior... I may have my priorities wrong here on what's awesome.

"Hello, we are Bethesda...and we are Fallout 4. Thank you and goodnight."

Also: No they won't. Their (get my joke?) not even close.

Alsoplustoo: Skyrim looks like a joke. It's like Bethesda's "thang" is showing the rest of the gaming world how advanced they (the rest of the gaming world) are via comparison.

So does this certification process honestly take as much as the parties involved are taking?

I would honestly not put it past Zenimax Bethesda that they changed the release date because they felt that this month was not the right time.
