Old World Blues

Yup. It's kind of like a beefed up Laser Rifle.

That's great to hear, i've always liked the Laser rifle but was disappointed to see that it kind of runs out of steam in the late game in comparison to other weapons and yet there is no clear upgrade path. Guns like say, a Cowboy repeater, dont have this issue as you have both the Trail combine and finally the Bush gun. The Service rifle is another example of a gun with a nice upgrade flow as it rolls nicely into the assault combine or the marksman combine.

:update with 100% more ["me no speaka Americano"]

Grammar man, try and fix it.

So anyone have a LAER yet? whats it like.

Got a full conditioned one, it's pretty much like an improved version of the laser rifle.

Minor spoiler:

[spoiler:b91cfda28f]Apparently there's a unique LAER that Elijah owned lying around somewhere, I'm still looking for it though.[/spoiler:b91cfda28f]

Overall how do you guys feel about it so far?

How funny is it?

I've had a couple chuckles, there's also some pretty dark places you can discover too. There's a good mix of dark humor and Fallout 2 style goofiness.

Describe the level of immersiveness brought about by the story and appropriate dialogue and character personalities.

The dialogue and personalities are great, but I wouldn't really say it's immersive. It might test your suspension of disbelief a little when you have your brain, heart, and spine removed and are perfectly fine.

Is it a must have if one wishes to learn all the most important parts of the New Vegas storyline or is simply going to The Vault next month to read up on the story enough?

It's not really that important to the main game except for a few explanations for small things in the Mojave, but I can't say how important it is to the Lonesome Road yet. I'd still say it's a must have because IMO it's the most fun DLC so far.

What order do you suggest OWB played with respect to the base game and its other DLCs?

Dead Money first, then either OWB or Honest Hearts second.

Any suggestions/tips before one begins this DLC's questlines?

It's not really that difficult, a high science skill will come in handy though (obviously).

Edit: Screenshots of my character's visit to the Big Empty and some of the stuff I found.

That bitchin' mad scientist outfit is so mine!
I can feel it calling to me, calling to me to do SCIENCE!

Curse you Steam!

And that glove is a pretty decent unarmed weapon too.

[spoiler:645010e7d1]And you can do science, in one part you can create your own cyberdog companion to follow you around. [/spoiler:645010e7d1]

Four hours in (been taking my time, listening to all dialogue, looking around a little bit) and I've got to say, the DLC is thus far fantastic. The location, the enemies, the back-story, the quests (which actually have some substance) are all very well done.

Night and day compared to Honest Hearts, which I thought was bloody awful.

Did a different team do this one? It must be the case.

Of course a different team has done it.

Also I'll guess that Honest Hearts just got far less time to develop so they had to cut around everywhere.

Did you see how many new traits there? Alot more and these are actually interesting to take, was only interested in WW. But im deciding if i should take the level cap at 30 one. Seems kinda cool since my level 45 had a whole level to spare without skill points. I seem kinda over powered... time to put difficulty at very hard and venture into the MYSTERIOUS CAVE! armed with my mad scientist outfit and glove. Sorry for my ramblings, but anyway i loved that
[spoiler:1847733b0b] After you beat OWB you can just teleport right back to the sink from the Mojave. PS: Sink beats lucky 38 by a HELL of a long shot[/spoiler:1847733b0b]
Best dlc yet, cannot wait for Lonesome Road.

Best Fallout DLC ever. I'm glad there are things for all types of Couriers and was surprised to see some really nice Survival options. The only thing I didn't like was Belmont's voice-acting, which was especially irritating during two special Holotape recordings.

Oh, and the main quest line is relatively short, so like Honest Hearts, it's best to take this one slow.

Quick question: What the hell are "Nightstalker Squeezin's"? I get it's a Wasteland reference (like Blood Sausage and Thin/Thick Red Paste), but I'm having difficulty visualizing it without getting grossed out.

They're made out of cave fungus, Nightstalker blood, and flour, so... I have no fucking idea what those Squeezin's are.

I love how they sort of try to bait you into exploring using reverse psychology.

In my country we have a dish that's made of pig blood and flour. When you slaughter the pig you gotta filter the blood of all the tiny veins that are mixed within it by squeezing the blood between your fingers with your hands. I don't know if that's relevant, i just thought it might be interesting.

I think this is the longest DLC as long as you don't rush through the main quest. I think you can still finish quests after the main quest, probably depends on your ending though.

Fallout new vegas crashes when i try to start the old world blues quest thingy, anyone else had their game crash? Solution?

This seems to be the Loot DLC, there are a shit ton of new armors and weapons.

Armours, not so much. Plenty of clothing but only one or two pieces with actual half decent DT.

Plenty of weapons though, still sticking with Knock Knock though as my other weapons I brought do a mix of sod and all to enemies.

Still...

SCIENCE!

Are those ghouls all carrying protonic reversal axes? I thought that item was supposed to be rare.

Anyone else noticed how accurate the K9000 is? You can practically snipe people with that thing. FIDO is less accurate but a lot more powerful, and still pretty accurate for a minigun.

It's the loot DLC like MZ. Rare weapons become commonplace and common stuff is rare!

Nah the protonic reversal axe was the DLC's rare version of the proton axe. I think all the loot is balanced by the fact that it's condition decays as fast as crap. I'd find a new suit of armor in a building at the Big MT and by the time I got out of that building the armor would be broken. :?

Edit: An Mothership Zeta definitely wasn't the loot DLC, that title belongs to Operation Anchorage. You know the one where you get all those weapons and ammo and the invincible suit of armor and the infinite stealth boy armor at the end?
