Old World Blues

Nope, worked fine. Actually, I had no bugs at all so far.
So far, I really like the DLC. It's a switch from the rather grim and serious previous DLCs. I really dig that over the top scifi style and the overall insanity of pretty much everything.
Yeah, people will say "Oh noes, it's wacky and lulzy and totally not Fallouty", but fuck them.

I still haven't finished the damn thing, I started the DLC with Project Nevada and man...what a nightmare!

The problem really isn't the constrain in skills, I started OWB in level 22 with my main combat skill - energy weapons- at 92% and my secondary combat skill - unarmed - at 88%, so I didn't had a though time with weapons, I'm loving the LAER and Saturnite fist super-heated, I'm pretty much doing the whole DLC with those.

The really constrain is my HP, Project Nevada cut the HP rainsing, so your END determine your health and since my build has 9 END, it equals to 190 HP.
And that's it, you don't gain +5HP every time you level.

That friggin' Legendary Bloatfly kill me with one shot, one lousy shot!
I LOL hard when I died the first time.
Before that I LOL ever more for finding the thing!

Really, a Legendary Bloatfly?!!!

Yeah, the Legendary Bloatfly was harder to kill than the Legendary deathclaw. It's kind of funny that the weakest creature gets the most powerful legendary.

DT of 0 + Brush Gun + HP ammo, and the damn thing still took ages to go down. 2000 HP is a lot. But I do not see how an unarmed/melee character could possibly beat it, it does like 200 damage per attack, and causes a huge explosion upon death.

Apart from that, really good DLC, having your brain replaced by Tesla coils tests my suspension of disbelief to the limit, but the overall self-awareness makes up for it. And there's some very interesting un-Science! locations, like Little Yangtze or Ulysses Point (find the holodisks there, just... find them). Only complaint is that I seem to crash more in the Big Empty than in the Mojave, 3 crashes thus far, and it all while reloading my Ranger Sequoia. Seems like they don't agree or something...

I kill it with the good old Holorifle + MC cells.

BTW, someone noted that the inside of the Securitron De-Construction Plant is an exact copy of the Robot Repair Center from Fallout 3?
It's a copy/paste really, even the room disposition and tables are in the same positions.

This is lazy, Obsidian.

It's not exactly the same but the building design is recognizable. The Higgs' village also seems very similar to the Tranquility Lane part of Fallout 3, but in noticeably worse condition.

Higgs Village is similar to Tranquility Lane, but it's not the same.

But the Plant has the same interior of Robot Repair Center, I'm not joking.
The tables, the stairs, the rooms, the doors, the colapsed elevator, the Protectrons locations, everything is the same.

Fire FO3 and you will see it.

Meh, I remember the Robot repair center being a little different than this, I guess I'll have to check and see. I don't really have a problem with the interior being reused anyway since they might have both been built by the same architects, a lot of people dislike the Vaults in FO3 and NV for not all having the same layout like they did in FO1 and FO2.

meh. i'm not too bothered about it being a copy/paste- so long as something's new in it (i.e. different items/terminals/creatures), which they did do here.... somewhat.

If you've had a crash with certain dialogue choices with Mobius (not looping like with others, just crashing), then you're with me.

I think I've had two or three crashes at the Big Empty, all while entering and exiting buildings.

I found OWB to be pretty hard so far. I came equipped rather lightly, which really was not a good idea in hindsight. Next time I'll bring my APA and the good guns :D

I wouldn't bring heavy armor, especially if you don't have the jury rigging perk. You find the occasional combat armor or recon armor but metal armor is rarer and I found no power armor at all. You'll also pay a LOT repairing at the Sink. Bring a brush gun and a whole bunch of .45-70 and most everything goes down easy.

that and power armor takes heavy hits from a lot of the weapons here.

The solution to that problem is simply taking all weapons of enemies, and using the common ones to get back the money you pay on repair costs.

I made the mistake of wanting to use just the gear in the OWB region.
Of course I finished it but it ate heavily into my stimpak supplies.

Right now I regularly have my Power Armor fixed whenever I visit the Sink and I still own most of the caps when I sell retrieved gear afterwards.

I am BTW surprised how effective brush guns and hunting revolvers are against T-51b Power Armor.

Weapons and armour are not my thing. Saying that I am deeply in love with the science scrubs. Some gloves on those b boys and I feel like I could SCIENCE! all day long.

Even 10mm sub machine guns seem to pack a punch.

This is probably common knowledge by now, but you can make quite a few caps by enhancing Saturnine Fists and selling them.

I thought I was prepared by bringing tons of AP ignoring armor, but those roboscorpions can take a ton of hits, especially on Hard and Very Hard difficulties. If it wasn't for Shotgun Surgeon and And Stay Back, I don't know how I would've survived.

Speaking of roboscorpions, do they have fixed spawn locations based on your progression, or do they have "natural" spawns with respawn timers? On my next OWB playthrough, I'd like to "farm" them for Stealth Boys.
