I'm not sure exactly how far the reception area is from where Jim is standing in the warehouse, but roll Listen for him. If he succeeds, then he overhears it.

Cryptography is for making and breaking complex codes. All you really need is simple signal that both Lewis and Malone understand, which doesn't require a roll. However, as long as Lereux is in the room, he won't be able to communicate it to Malone so that she understands it and he doesn't. Don't worry, though, he won't be in there forever. The arrival of the truck may get his attention once he hears about it.

thanks welsh but I think I figured out a way to get Captian America out of the room and maybe spice up the game a bit. It depends how he reacts to what Lewis just did for this round. I should know by Saturday at the latest. Stay tuned

Out of curiousity, who is your favorite Zombie Apoc character?

I secretly am fond of Azadeh, but for personal reasons.

I especially love Mr. Foo.

Luke is still my favorite, eventhough he isn't complex at all and has little interesting stuff going on at the moment.

Most likely to survive this mess I'd say, although in these kind of movies, it's usually the most unlikely people that survive. ;)

I'll post a major update on Saturday.

Samantha was actually on the ground, and Beth was on the roof. Beth would have had a chance to act had Samantha failed to bring the dog down, but Beth isn't quite as good with a rifle.

My favorite character is Stephanie, and I also like Bo and Mr. Foo a lot. Of course, I was playing them from the start so I may be a bit biased.

Favorite Cheracter - Well two. I liked Horst n' Flip. They were the antipithies. I like the antipathy. I was getting into the role of flip, right after he bashed horst's brains in with a can of tomato-slices. If I knew he was going to get offed in the near future, I would have attempted the grapple against bud (and his .38) . Flip could have been more like "Danny Vinyard" from American History X.

Since their dead, well -err- their dead. Now I'm all about Wallace. I've got some ideas for Wallace.

Alice's Idea roll: Right now the garage is open, and it's very easy for zombies to get inside. If the doors were closed, it would be more secure. The problem is that Wallace's truck is sticking partway out of the garage bay, and the door cannot be closed while it is there.

Lewis's Idea roll: Lewis doesn't know exactly what to do about the Russians from this roll, it's just a thought he has. The Russians are moving their ships away from Istanbul and from where the U.S. sub disappeared. While this might lead one to suspect that the Russians were involved, it could also mean that they are afraid that their ships would meet the same fate and are moving them away as a precaution.

Also, Lewis does not need to roll Cryptography to come up with a secret signal that he and Malone could understand. All he has to do is decide on a word or gesture and let her know about it. Of course, anyone else present will be able to observe this too. While Mikhalin and Lewis are close friends, they don't know Malanowski all that well. How he reacted would be up to Gonzalez.

I'm planning on posting a major update tonight, but I may hold off. So far only you and Stompie have posted since Saturday, but if at least one other player posts then I'll go ahead with the update. Otherwise, I'll wait another day or two.

Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I won't have a chance to update it tonight, but maybe I'll be able to do so during the week.

re: what is going on?

Mr Handy aka Jon,
When you got me to come to this game I was told that we had to committ to updating what our characters did often, at least a couple times a week. Now I have been pretty faithful in that aspect. But the game has been really dragging. I wish to know why not just wait until a couple of people have posted and then go ahead and post at least a minor if not a major update. If those people who cannot committ to doing it more often have thier characters die then oh well.

I do intend to update again. I'm sorry that the game is moving too slowly for you. Part of it is that other players haven't posted, but part of it is that I've had a shortage of time myself. I plan to post a major update tomorrow whether or not anyone else posts in the meantime, and another one this coming weekend. I would also like the game to move faster, and from now on I intend to post more frequently even when only a couple of players have posted. You have posted often and quickly, Steve, and I thank you for that. A number of interesting things are about to happen, and soon you may miss this period of relative calm.

Intresting things like what?
Alice has sex with David
The A-hole captian gets killed by zombies, just so you know if that were to happen Lewis and McCain will watch and not help him at least at this point. :P

Jim Kerr actually gets to do something instead of guarding someone who does not need to be guarded :o

It's a surprise. Well, actually more than one surprise.

I'm running ahead of schedule tonight. No promises, but there's a chance I'll be able to update tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow.

Also, now that Bo has returned, Jim Kerr might be able to do other things.

Also, I noticed that Luke's character sheet lists his Fist/Punch skill as 45%. The base level is 50%, so that's what he should have. Either way the roll was a hit, but punching a weapon is not necessarily the best way to disarm someone who is tightly gripping a weapon. Samantha isn't that strong, though, so it may work and I'll allow it in this case since she failed her Resistance roll. The normal way to disarm someone is to make two successive Grapple rolls: one to grab the weapon and the second roll to wrench it free. Grapple rolls may also be actively opposed by the target's own Grapple skill. The default Grapple level is 25%.

grapple implies wrestling it from the target. if someone is trying to shoot himself and already has the barrel under his chin, wrestling isn't something you want to do. punching the front handguard or the barrel should bump it from under the chin. because of the punch, the gun could go off of course, but hopefully only after it has been dislodged (Luke has 90% luck ;) ). this is a lot less likely if you wrestle it away...

as for the 45%, yeah, noticed that too. either way, i figured that if a headshot is -5%, hitting the rifle might as well be -5% as well, so went with the 45% anyway.

I just finished 26 pages, single spaced, for part of this chapter. And that's only a small part of this chapter. So yeah- things are going to get interesting.
