Hey Handy- Thanks for including some of that stuff I had written up in the most recent post.
A couple thoughts for the T-Bone people.
Luke is right that the place is more difficult to defend, but not impossible. While the West wall has been largely destoryed, entrace from the East is limited to two doors, which could be repaired and blockaded.
While much of the roof would need to be torn down, parts of it might remain to give the T-Bone folks a vantage from above. The North wall of the complex is solid wall, cider block construction for the garage. Close the garage doors and you're in pretty good shape. The garage is still in pretty good shape and has quite a bit of useful supplies.
Still you might want to get to fixing the last truck since the NPS helicopter is probably destroyed or at least can't be repaired with what supplies and staff you have.
As for the kitchen and frigerators- one could gather some food supplies from those rooms which will be essential in the days ahead.
The South wall was primarily the diner- big windows mostly shattered. But you've got lumber supplies from the truck plus what you can salvage from the T-Bone to fortify the wall.
Don't forget you have a tow truck near the diner and a rig. The damaged cars could be used to help blocade the front of the diner.
Suaside- Luke is perhaps more of a lone operator but his instinct to defend from up high was one of the smartest moves made in Chapter 1. Luke would probably realize that had there been more shooters on the roof, they could have probably defended the diner better- taking out the approaching zombies at range. This might have him thinking more about how to organize for a defense.
But if so, one thing they would probably have to do is clean or repair guns that might have been damaged during the last fight.
Otherwise- a couple of other things to consider is that the complex below has yet to be fully explored. It might provide supplies and equipment that could be essential to the future.
The arrival of the AF troopers may point out to new opportunities that are, so far, unknown. But even so, for the time being you guys are at the diner- you can leave or stay - each choice bears risks.
If you leave, you are uncertain of where you go. If you stay you can expect inevitable threat. Problems either way.
One thing for sure- the T-Bone people should organize and plan. You have much to do - rebuild and fortify, salvage what is useful, care for your wounded, plan for the furture and explore the rest of this site.
To do this most effectively you should organize and deploy.
For example- Mitchell might best be deployed to repair the truck. Gary could look after the fortification of the T-Bone. Although Jim remains under orders to protect Haussman and Stephanie, Bo is more on-site protection and could be more effectively utilized elsewhere. Luke could care for weapons and consider deploying for defense, Sally and Haussman can look after the wounded. Other characters can explore, forage or rebuild.
Remember the rule from the ZOmbie Surival Guide- organize before they rise!
