ooga booga crapout 76 is now cannon

Now i just see video after video on youtube yelling about how generic it is.

Quite interesting how quickly the opinion on it turned, right?
Legacy media can barely be trusted any more and now the same starts to apply for a lot of Youtube reviewers as well.
Not saying that all of them are shills but I do think there is a bit of a company fanboy problem.

I can understand, I also thought for a while that Obsidian was the "bee's knees" and that they just needed to get a chance to develop a fully completed game to show that they still had the Black Isle spark, but I am pretty much over that these days.

the people that are excited for a new vegas 2 now that Microsoft owns both Bethesda and obsidian are in for a surprise. no one that made new vegas besides josh still works at the company.

I also don't want New Vegas 2 because of the possibility of giving the previous game a canon ending, meaning all the discussion people have had for years of which faction would be the best for the Mojave would have been for naught. Of course the other possibility is some bullshit ending where no one wins, which is arguably just as bad as one faction winning.

I really want Fallout to go further East, sort of like the trek to the West in US history, going into new territory.

I also think that certain factions should be "left behind" in the core region.
Perhaps scouts and travelers made it east but it will take years before their factions establish a foothold.

Of course Bethesda's bullshit makes it so that the BOS, Super Mutants, and Enclave, have a presence everywhere.

My own ambition is still a Fallout set in Texas, during or after the Mojave campaign with the Legion invading the region but not encountering any major organized opposition here.
And I would like to try out the scenario of what if the it was the Legion who brought order and law to this land?

Honestly I think the reason opinion in it "turned" was that, to be quite frank, the cracks started to show.

Like, my experience of it was as a generic experience that, while it certainly had it's charms, felt predictable and flat almost immediately, and I hadn't even seen a single negative statement about it by the time I formulated that opinion.

I think a lot of people probably played it and were hyped about it, and liked some details, but then as time went on started to realise actually, it wasn't that great and was super over-hyped.

if NV2 is planned I really really hope we get to play as another race this time around. I'd love to play the game through the eyes of a prewar Ghoul or Super Mutant remnant from the Master's army.

It will be retconned the next fallout. Bethasda is terrible with lore lol, i would just recommand to not look into fallout lore anymore, its a mess. Soon it will be just as bad as the elder scrolls
