Panic button!

More like +10, remember back in the 80's how much faster albums sold once Mrs. Gore's PMRC lable (Parental Advisory) was put on the cover?

I do, I do!

Sounds like you may be eligible for an "Aging Hessian" award.

I used to love how metal bands back then started thanking Mrs. Gore for creating an environment in which adding an f-bomb to a track would guarantee many extra sales, I'm sure that must have burned her hide. But now I am going way OT so I'll stop, sorry.

In that game, you're able to kill children :( .
It's okay, it's just a game. Just a game.
What's that supposed to mean? :?
aries369 seemed to be sad, because a player is able to kill children in Hitman: Blood Money.
Ah! Lol, i didn't get it xD I think, though, aries was sad about other games not letting the player kill children too, and with sad excuses :P

OK, I am still confused.

So you have this game you have made which is full of nasty violent acts, funny violice, gorey violence, sexual scenes (or referneces at least) and children who you can kill.

No publisher will accept it, but its got such an "Oh dear god, this game is sick." rating the media that the fans are just crying to get their hands on it. So what do you do? You either create a new publisher and sell the thing via postal (make big doller). Or somone somwhere will say "I will sell this game." for the money.

Seriously, game designers NEED to listen to the fans more.

Who buys a game based on its violence level? seriously

"Children who you can kill" has its own violence category now?

Speaking of killable children...
I don't like how they implemented the "childkiller" reputation in Fallout. I'm playing a raider now, and I killed 16 people in Shady Sands to get their belongings (Hunting Rifle, stimpacs, FA kit, etc.) - no-one wants to kill me for doing it, but if I would kill a kid, people would magically know that I'm a childkiller and they would hire bounty hunters to kill me.

I think that it's immoral and unnatural, because it devaluates lives of adult people and adds unnatural consequences to actions.
People should be able to know that my character have done something only if they have got the information about it.

Frankly, I think that we, gamers should become more politicaly active, or even more militant, just as those who are trying to destroy our culture.

...you can't just factor out children from Fallout like in Oblivion.

I had no idea that there was anything missing from my UK version of the game for ages, what with not having internet access for a long time. I really didn't think about the lack of children, probably because they are absent from most games and I've simply been conditioned to accept that. For me, they aren't an essential element for immersion in the game world - I guess that breeding hadn't really entered my mind.

(Obviously, I rushed to patch them back in once I found out...)

Yeah its annoying how most games dont feature children any more, but then I guess its a lot of work. If you are going to have children why not then teens, babies and old people as well? Short, fat, tall, thin the whole show. Its a lot of work. I guess its easier to implament children into F1 and 2 because its isometric veiw, you cant REALLY see if somone is taller than the other, or a bit shorter. Though it would be cool if you could.

Yeah, I agree here. There should be a lot of different people in games - including children, old people, etc.

Same for me. The problem is that I tend to assume that there aren't any children in the presented world - when I played P:T or Arcanum, I assumed that all people in that world are adults.

To clarify:

I have nothing against if there in an RPG is an option available for you to kill children --- if you choose to do. Just as long as I have the option
NOT to kill children.

To clarify even more:

The whole --- it is OK, it is just a game were my brain speeding a little faster than I write ;).

What I meant was that killing children in a videogame do not turn you into a serial killer
in real life (as some politicians think ).
